While I rank George Foreman leagues higher than Vitali Klitscko, I've always felt that this was one match where the lesser ranked man could prevail. Foreman would not enjoy the size and strength advantages that he had over many of his better opponents, and furthermore would be taking on a man who's chin and stamina may carry him into the later rounds where George had the tendency to drown. Lastly, while Vitali was no Muhammad Ali in the skills department, he did at least have respectable boxing ability along with a decent wing span and some snap behind his shots. That's a nasty combination for Foreman.. We can go on all day about " This one beat Joe Frazier, while that one beat up a fat old Corrie Sanders, " but at the end of the day, I don't think its going to make a difference in the actual chemistry between these two.
Anybody who stands infrontbof big george is getting kod. And both klitchikos dont move so well . Prime foreman would ko both. People forget big george could box too he was smart laid traps. He won an olympic gold. George would ko them both . There jab might give him little trouble but george chin was grante . Big g all day long
I like Vitali's durability in this one, If he is careful early (and he has a solid chin) he can take a prime Foreman into deep waters and utilize all of his advantages Vitali TKO 8-10
I think Vitalis straighter punches are going to land before georges wide swings do. If George foreman is confident enough hes going to put vitali into the ropes and reign down the blows, thats if he isnt disheartened or continously rocked by the jabs and crosses off vitali. I also dont think its easy to KO Vitali. Thats why i made the thread. Wladmir probably gets done in a few rounds.
Prime for prime? or 90s Foreman v.s Vitali??? Because 90s Foreman would pretty much be target practice... 70s Foreman v.s Vitali would be a shoot out in the early going, and the longer the fight goes the more I favor Vitali.
Some might not want to read it, but lighter punchers than Vitali rocked and floored Foreman at both stages of his career. Never one for speed or defense, Foreman’s defense in many cases was his power and fear of the incoming. Ali hit Foreman easy. So did Young. If you taking a prime Foreman here, he has stamina and poise issues, and could not match Vitali’s foot speed. Outside of an early bomb for Foreman, I think he likely loses in the mid to late rounds.
A 1973- Foreman wins this one in my opinion, if VK'S grill couldn't stand the punches of Lennox, it's not gonna hold up to Foremans either:-(, Foreman by late stoppage on cuts... VK, didn't have the power to hurt George either... I think Wlad would give George a harder fight than VK, but they both come up short at the end...:deal
Ok i give vitali a shot because of his chin. But the younger one has no chance. Vitalis chin is solid but has it really been tested . Not really plus he aint ever been hit by a guy with foremans power
Vitali has been hit flush by plenty who can hit. Hide, Sanders, and Lewis to name a few. He was never floored by a punch in a career that spanned past age 40. How you could say it was never tested? Could Foreman floor him? Sure, but its unlikely he lands what he needs. Vital had a good defense. He wasnt easy to time or catch clearly. He used his legs often and kept the ideal distance for him Lewis said he was hard to hit. Chris Byrd said the same thing and both were top level boxers.
:good One of the worst stylistic matchups for Foreman. Against for instance Wlad/Tyson/Holmes he has a decent chance of winning by KO, but Vitali basically neutralizes all off George's virtues.
I had to stop right here. Both K bros. (and who even asked about Wlad) move extremely well. In fact, the first thing mentioned by opponents and trainers is their footwork. So, back up and rethink the question.
Yep, in fact, contrary to popular opinion I think Wlad's footwork/footspeed is his prime asset. (And similarly so for Pacquiao.)
