    Oh Melvin.

Gladly they will never switch permanently to a cage in Japan.

There are few things scarier than a standing Melvin Manhoef, but he is absolutely hopeless on the ground.

    He's always entertaining, either way.

    Gegard Mousasi vs. Jake O'Brien

    Round 1

O'Brien starts off with a yellow card for coming in overweight. :think Point deduction and Mousasi gets 10% of his purse.

O'Brien immediately shoots for a double leg but Mousasi sprawls and locks up his head. O'Brien wraps around the left leg and tries to yank him down unsuccessfully, and MOUSASI THEN SUBMITS HIM WITH A STANDING GUILLOTINE (HIS OWN BACK TO THE ROPES) TWO SECONDS LATER.

    JZ Calvan vs. Katsunori Kikuno

    Round 1

JZ throws a couple of kicks and telegraphs some hooks. Kikuno pushes him to a corner, and they are pulled out of it by the referee. Kikuno pushes him back to another corner and neither does anything significant, so they're pulled out again. JZ takes him down and passes quickly. Kikuno makes his way to his feet and avoids being subbed in the process. Front kicks from JZ as Kikuno stalks, missing punches from his weird spooky-ghost guard. Kikuno kicks him below the ribs. Then again. JZ tries to shoot as Kikuno throws a wide punch, and Kikuno wrestles him off. JZ shoots again and puts him down by the ropes. After a long period of inactivity, they scramble up and both get sloppily entangled in the bottom and middle rope. They clinch and JZ works some short knees. A left hook drops Kikuno to a knee, but right back up. JZ grabs the waist of Kikuno and pushes him to the ropes going for a TD, then winds up on his back with Kikuno in his guard. JZ grabs his own left heel with his right hand, wrapped around the back of Kikuno's neck. Kikuno breaks the hold and buries his face in JZ's chest, firing overhead with looping punches. Kikuno backs out of the guard and invites JZ to stand. JZ throws a leg kick and walks into a counterpunch. Kikuno kicks him in the body. JZ grabs Kikuno and wrestles him standing, into the ropes. They get tied up in the ropes again. JZ eats a couple of counters as they go back to boxing. Kikuno now interlocks his fists around the small of JZ's back and controls him against the ropes for the last moments.

    Round 2

JZ misses a couple of power punches and gets kicked in the gut while shooting; he and Kikuno go down together awkwardly. Their heads poke in between the ropes and they reign it back into the ring. JZ has Kikuno's back and takes it high, near choke position. Kikuno twists his body around and gets himself sitting up, but JZ still has a body triangle locked on. Kikuno hooks the ropes in his underarm and JZ leans on him. JZ goes for a guillotine on Kikuno's back as Kikuno tries to stand up, supporting both their weight. JZ can't squeeze anything on tight enough to finish Kikuno, who keeps trying to get up. Kikuno pulls his head out from between JZ's legs from behind and the bell rings before he can complete the switch.

Close fight, but I can get behind that decision.

    Kikuno is awesome, though.

    Shinya Aoki vs. Tatsuya Kawajiri

    Round 1

Aoki beelines for the left foot of Kawajiri and traps it in his right armpit. Kawajiri sits in a crouch with his foot still trapped tightly and kicks backward at Aoki. Kawajiri stretches himself out, and tries to pull free by pushing into the mat with his arms for leverage. He taps.

    Goodnight, and sweet DREAM!

Well Aoki sure dealt with that pretty quickly. Not sure what's left for him in Japan now. Needs to make another run at Melendez or sign for UFC I would think.
