Looks like DREAM's heavyweight division is starting to shape up now with fighters like Crocop, Overeem, Mark Hunt and possibly Kharitonov, although i heard that Kharitonov was fighting on the EliteXC card against Antonio Silva. Hopefully a Heavywieght Grand Prix will come about in the near future.
Almost...the production quality is there for sure...as for their fighters...they do have quality fighters but not as many as they used to. But it seems that they're trying their best to regroup a lot of them in each of their new events. I thought they'd get their hands back on Kharitonov but apparently not... Most HWs are fighting with Affliction now too... There's rumors that the couture vs fedor fight will take place in japan on NYE..But Crocop (who's already signed with DREAM) also hopes for a rematch...So who knows... My guess is that fedor doesn't have an exclusive contract with affliction. (he never had one to begin with though..) I think he's one of the rare fighters who's doing his **** by "his rules"...(or in his case , his manager's rules)... I could be wrong though. But anyway , yes , in about a year or two , i believe that DREAM will be ufc's true , serious contender. (that is , if they don't **** up things like they did the last time with pride)
Updated card Eddie Alvarez vs. Tatsuya Kawajiri Shin’ya Aoki vs. Kaoru Uno GP reserve match: Joachim Hansen vs. Black Mamba Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto vs. Joseph Benavidez Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Katsuyori Shibata Kuniyoshi Hironaka vs. Motoki Miyazawa Hansen vs Mamba could be a fun fight. Would have liked to have seen Akiyama fight someone decent. Still no news on Hunt's opponent.
Once Mark Hunt solidifies his submission and takedown defenses - he will be a terror in the ring. DREAM is doing nicely carrying the Japanese MMA banner at the moment.
