Dream annouced that they will be holding a Featherweight and a Welterweight GP this year. Im sure they can put together a good FW GP with the likes of Kid, Tokoro, Nakamura, possibily even Imanari too and a few others. Not so sure about the WW GP as Dream barely have any WW's and they always struggle to find Sakurai a decent opponent. Nick Diaz's name is always mentioned as a possible opponent for Sakurai but that fight hasn't happened so far. Aoki has expressed a interest to enter the WW GP but he should rematch Hansen first. Paul Daley is another guy they could get in but he has has he is looking to get a contract with the UFC this year. Baroni is another option. Who do you guys think we can realistically see in these GP's? The FEG president also said they want to crown a Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight champion this year. Looks like they will need to sign a good number of fighters. It would be ideal if WVR joined forces with Dream. :yep
Like you said Welterweight will be difficult. Baroni was courting the UFC so even he may not be an option.
Id wait for the Grand Prixs until they develop more depth in this weight classes. Grand Prixs kick ass but I dont wanna see 4 great fighters face some scrubs.
