On paper, Usyk should have the advantage. Quick, agile and intelligent counter-punchers are what seemed to be the hardest type of fighter for a young George Foreman to beat, as seen with both Ali and Young. Usyk especially has one of the best gas tanks and engines ever, while Foreman seemed to have trouble pacing himself and got tired more easily. The size difference is also really negligible here. Even if Foreman is the naturally bigger man, it's really not to a point that it will make a difference.

That said, the Briedis fight gives me some pause. Foreman was a far more dangerous offensive threat than Briedis, he was stronger, harder hitting and a deadly finisher when he had someone hurt. Usyk will have a harder time imposing himself against George. And while Usyk has a granite chin, he is still prone to being hurt and stunned. While defensively sound, he will get caught by something eventually. The important thing is if Usyk can prevent that something being some monster shot.

I think I may go with Usyk, since he has the style advantage, but a Foreman win wouldn't really be a surprise for me.

People shouldn't write Foreman off just because Usyk is bigger.

that said I'm not writing him in either.

I have to go Uysk. George no doubt had the power to hurt anyone but I favor the boxing IQ of Uysk.

Usyk schools him. Whoops him and decisions him even better than Young did

I go with Usyk. But George winning by devastating body shot wouldn't surprise me either. Dubois never hit the bag so hard that it fell of the chain lol

I love George but I honestly think Usyk has the style to put a bad loss on him.

George would break him down to the body with his winging shots down low and stop him by mid rounds

Fury was catching and him hurting him to the body, big George would break it

Being the best in a bum division means little
The great potential heavyweights are in the NFL or NBA

The talent pool is less now and has been dog sh.t for close to 2 decades

This is an easy fight for Usyk.
Foreman way too slow, way too crude, way too dumb.
Let's keep in mind AJ is massive compared to Foreman, so is Dubious really.
The size and power won't be an issue.
And Foreman got KO'd by Ali, who stung like a butterfly.
Usyk could actually get the stoppage!

I can't past the sheer brutal, destructive power of prime Foreman.

I think Usyk is a bad style match up for Foreman.

Foreman had issues with movers/boxers like Peralta, Young, etc. I think Usyk's workrate, stamina, boxing skills, movement, angles, would be a bit too much for Foreman and Usyk wins a decision for me.

Although it would be interesting to see how Usyk reacts to getting hit by those thudding body shots from Foreman.

Foreman cut the ring off on Ali and pounded him, Usyk is not better than Ali and could not take the shots Ali did.

I think Briedis is maybe the most underrated fighter of the past 10 years and probably a top 5 ATG cruiserweight. Definitely a craftier fighter than young Foreman
