BTW Dren... Why do you still fanboy Andre Ward who actually low-blowed Kov LEADING to the ref stoppage in the rematch? If you are going to pretend he didn't, it's clear as day in the replay. Everyone knows Ward was a bit dirty ala' Hopkins, but you sure don't mind him being a bit dirty. Your selective outrage is pretty apparent.
I would favor Tito at both weights but more so at 154lbs. Tito 7-5 at 147lbs and at 154lbs Tito would win on points again or a late stoppage, Tito would win clearly hurting Mosley on different accations. Tito had new found strength and additional power at 154lbs as well as even more stamina.
Like you said what do you know lol. I love Sugar Shane but I think Tito takes this at both 147 and 154 pounds.
Shame this never happened...always fancied Shane to have got the job done at 147...above.. probably favour Tito The fight is a giant question mark and a damn shame
SSM too durable for a single punch, even from Tito, to completely change the fight. That was Tito's get out of jail card and without it, Tito would probably lose.
What makes it especially exciting is that there are plenty of fantasy matchups makeable between HOF level champs who both possessed elite speed, or elite power, or elite chins ..but not many where both guys have all three. ~Now, some may balk at Tito having an elite chins (I've seen revisionist statements online that he actually embodies the stereotypical Puerto Rican 'glass jaw'), but at 147 and 154lb he absolutely did. He may not have fought a lot of big punchers, but he went 24 rounds on the frontfoot against DLH and Vargas at those weights and only went down once. Too much is made of the KO at the hands of Hopkins (or the knockdown from Mayorga) up at MW. He simply didn't belong up there.~ Obviously they weren't equal in those categories - SSM had the faster hands and better chin, while at welter I'd give Tito an edge in power (though if we're talking p4p comparing welter Tito with lightweight Sugar, that's different..) but I'd rate both as world class in all three. And both - while they could box - were aggressive. All of which is to say, this would have made for a rare treat from the spectators' view.
Shane would've had major problems with Tito at 147 (a long rangy boxer/puncher with lightning in his fists). Shane did not do well with much taller rangier guys, Even against Oscar in the first fight, he had some trouble with it. The speed would've troubled Tito for the first few rounds, but Tito knew how to circle and box a bit. Over time he would've start hitting Shane heavy, and I dispute people saying Tito would've want a slug fest with Shane, that's the last thing Shane would want. Notice, even Oscar didn't want that with Tito (I think Oscar beat Tito). Tito UD 12
