The yanks are talking up the possibility of boxing returning to baseball stadiums, notably the New Yankee Stadium:

    http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=4463325

:happyIt will be awesome if it comes to fruition, IMO.

Now, this got me thinking: Which venues would you most like to see boxing hosted on a grand scale in the UK and the Republic?

This isn't a realism thread, it's pure fantasy, so don't worry if you think there's not a snowball's chance in hell of it ever happening. Some I can think of where it would be cool:

    The refurbished Twickenham:

Lords (I know it won't happen!):

    Croke Park:

    Any thoughts?:think:good

i think that croke park and twickenham are TOO big for boxing, the shape of a rugby/football/GAA stadiums arnt as conducive to watching fights as a baseball stadium would be.

the reebok in bolton could be a good shout, Casement park in belfast should rogan and lindsay headline a bill there would be insane

Howz about this one althought a lot of snobbish types would never allow it

CENTRE COURT WIMBLEDON? right size, great gladiator shape, high profile?????

It's obvious but any fight that takes place at Wembley I want to go to:

Outside of that, only really my local football club, if I boxed:

Any massive out door stadium though I'd like to go watch boxing at truth be told.

Centre Court at Wimbledon. Bob Arum thinks that it would be ideal.

    Adios.

A lot of tennis fans here. I didn't expect that. As for Arum, isn't he a tennis fan anyway? As Mandanda said, I'd love it just to see the toffs and yuppies cry foul!

buncey any chance of this actually happening? it would need to be a superfight involving a english boxer against a p4p fighter and i cant really see who thats gona be?

Would the Bobfather have enough pull to make it a reality?
