    how would he do?
I think he would be able to outpoint tua, chambers, arreola, and Holyfield, but he would definatley have problems with vitali and wlad. actually, he might be too fast for vitali.
haye vs young would be interesting :think

He could beat the current version of Holyfield and Valuev and that's about it.

Depends on the ref. Some refs would allow his jab and grab style, others wouldn't.

He could do verry well for himself.

A couple of years back he would have been a sure fire bet to get a strap.

Today he would be a threat to the beltholders as he was in his own era.

    ?
young was a counter puncher, he slipped punches and tried to counter with a jab or a right hand. I watched his fights agains shavers, Lyle, foreman, and norton, that was not his style. he also was very hard to hit flush in his prime, which is why he mightve beliAs handful for anybody. Ali clinched way more then him. i think even wlad clinches more. young does
more on the inside then both of them. I seriously don't think he has a jab and grab style.

I didn't see him as a jab and grabber either, not even in his past his prime days when he was slowed down. He was very good at judging the distance for getting in his counter right and could rattle off some sharp body punches when the opening presented itself also.

I think Jimmy Young would be in the top ten today like he was back in the 1970's. I think alot of comparisions have been made of Young to Chris Byrd, and they were similiar, so I would look at what Byrd was able to do as a heavyweight and that in a nutshell would be what Jimmy Young would have accomplished in today's heavyweight division.

Young would beat everyone except for the Klitschko brothers..both would be too big for him and would likely bust Jimmy up and win ala Gerry Cooney's tko victory back in'80, and likewise without actually decking Young..he would be too clever and slippery to let that happen.

I think he'd definitely be a rated fighter, but I can't see him ascending to the very top of the division... For one thing, he was too inconsistent, and really only had a very brief run where he was genuinely beating the best or losing to them in competitive fashion.. for another, his style was not terribly appealing to a lot of judges and referees, leading me to believe that he'd probably drop a lot of decisions. Lastly, he only scored some 10 knockouts 34 wins, and in a division of very large heavyweights, I don't think that he'd get too many of them to respect him...

    Absolutely.Are you joking?

99% of the fighters around don't win a round with the man, especially those of smaller, feather-fisted stature. I see a stoppage inside 8.

That said, he would certainly be a top-10 contender today.

He got foreman to respect him. He dropped Foreman and outpointed him. Foreman is an ATG who would tear through todays division.

Yet the two best fighters he's ever fought beat him? Vitali shuts out out of shape 2nd raters, or past there prime fighters. Let's see him defeat a prime lively very good heavyweight in dominant fashion, before we put him on a pedastal like that.
