Drought week II

Yeah, I'd dread being a ringside commentator with English as my lingua mater, if he ever becomes a big enough star to hammer out a presence overseas and headline the MGM Grand or something. You know for damn sure the American media would cook up a catchy nickname for him in a jiffy.

Yes. One interesting fight all week. It happens to be a doozy but is literally the only thing going on.

You must be overrating the living shit outta Gesta if you don't think he's made to order for Linares to school (and either stop late or shut completely out). Have you even seen him?

 

To wit: Linares is a 1/25 favorite over Gesta. Clearly it isn't just me that thinks this is a mismatch (at least on paper...talented as he is, Jorge does always have that air of vulnerability as pretty average but moderately heavy-handed guys have upset him in the past...)

If he won, Gesta will have officially sprung a bigger upset, going by the bookmakers, than anything in 2017 except Truax over DeGale:

...so yes, I feel comfortable saying that Usyk vs. Briedis (which, if some of us are right about Usyk, could ALSO turn out to be a mismatch!) is the only real worthwhile fight this week.
