Give everyone roids, make it an even playing field and boxing will be 10x more entertaining.

Who wants to watch a couple of whippets tap away at each other over 12 rounds? Give me thundering brain haemorrhaging punchers and 6 round KO's and everyone is a winner except the poor sod that has a mushy brain.:happy

Since when do you start defining your own morals by what someone else is prepared to do? Your either a moral person you aint. He's just trying to pass the book by marginalizing what he's done. He says its naive to think lots of other fighters are not taking PED, but its also stupid to assume everyone else is taking PED as a means of legitimatizing your own cheating.

Larry clearly has no morals what so ever. If Larry has a son who Boxes I would love to hear how he'd feel if his son fell victim to an opponent using PED.

I lose even more respect for people who get caught and still cant accept liability. They are like rats when cornered. They will go for the throat in survival mode.

    - I don't support Larry
    - I am strongly against PEDs
    - PEDs are probably widespread in sport
    - That doesn't make it OK to cheat as well
    - Those with more money are better able to avoid getting caught
    - Corruption is rife, the boxing is rotten to the core
    - I'm getting fed up with this sport

I think his statement makes sense, and he's being honest. I have no sympathy for him getting thrown out of the sport - those are the rules - but I agree with him saying that many or most of his peers are doing the same. I know he's not lying about that.

It's funny how people who get caught doing steroids and then tell the truth are attacked more than those who get caught and lie.
People who deny all knowledge or say "my doctor gave me the wrong stuff" or "I only did it this once, for an injury" or "I didn't check my supplements, they must have been contaminated" ... those guys get less critcism.
The ones who say, "yeah, i was on it for years, all the winners are using - that's why I used - TO WIN" ... they become hate figures.

In athletics, look how Dwain Chambers was shunned for years because he came clean.
And how Christine Ohorogo can miss three drugs test, get banned, deny she did anything wrong, and come back a 'hero' the very next season.

slightly different but chanbers is huge still in terms of muscle mass.

ohorugu defo cheated back in the day. and i have that on good authority from someone with british athletics. she thought it better to miss 3 tests and deny taking drugs than get caught.

she has been dog **** for the last few years, goes for a break to jamaica ( funnily enough where a lot of athletes have been to going to improve performance, and where they have no off season drug testing) to get away from the stress of the uk and comes back and does her best times in 3 years.

    sheer coincidence I am sure......

    I agree.

Doping is a problem - regardless of what you think of them as people, you need to listen to athletes like Larry who come out and are far more honest than most about this. Like anything in life, if you want to tackle a problem it's far more effective to be proactive and deal with the causes of the problem than being reactive and deal with it's effects.

Take inner city crime as an example, you can spend your time repeatedly arresting and locking up kids over and over again, or you can look at what is causing these kids to break the law and try to address the root cause.

At the moment it's easier to come out with an excuse for your cheating, serve your ban and come back than it is to come clean and tell it like it is. As long the people who keep their mouth shut about this stuff fare better than those who are honest then we're not really going to know why boxers are cheating, what are they taking, how do they do it etc then we're not really going to be any closer to cracking the problem, we're just always going to be playing catch up.
