It is damaging as it shows he used an illegal substance to help him make the weight, even if it was more of a diuretic then a outright PED it doesn't change the fact a fighter of Morales's calibre shouldn't have been resorting to such tactics.

its quite strange how the view of drugs cheats is different here in the UK compared to the USA...in the UK if you are a cheat then youre basically scum...in the USA if your a cheat they dont seem to mind as long as their winning. Look at Lamont Peterson, im yet to see an american bad mouth him, in England he would be crucified (if he was english). Lance Armstrong has a thread in the general when about 20% (the americans) claim he still isnt a cheat.

its terrible the cultural difference on this aspect. dwayne chambers was rightly vilified in britain for using steroids and given a huge ban which british athletics did everything they could to turn into a lifetime ban. it does make you wonder how many other american sporting greats have cheated their way to victory because of lapse drug testing procedures.

so? the question was why no other mexican boxers got tested positive for clenbuterol and the answer is that they don't get tested for that
contaminated meat is a legit excuse for a positive clenbuterol test, according to WADA

I will wait for the B sample for Morales.
I dont give a crap about Jr´s weed "problem".
I believe Berto was clean and it was just contamination.
    I do think Peterson cheated.
I have no idea what Tarver did.

There is nothing worse than a boxing fan defending use of steroids (RJJ's exposure comes to mind comes to mind)

Its not as simple as a black & white issue.

At one end of the spectrum there are guys like Larry O, who knowingly took a cocktail of various steroids for years. At the other end there are guys who, for whatever reason, test positive in such miniscule amounts it will have no positive effect on performance.

Labelling them all the same is an over simplification, there are cheats & there are ****-ups.

I blame the so called advancements in science . I mean its the norm in all sports . And how would this have made EM a better boxer or improved his performance ?

Definitely a blow to the legitimacy of this fight if it does end up coming off.

80% of the US athletes in the olympics during the 80's were on PED's according to the american head coach at the time, the best thing would be for all samples to be saved and looked at in the future with more modern methods...imagine if we had the blood samples from american athletes at the 84 games now....they would be handing a lot of medals back. Athletes would also fear being exposed later down the line (like armstrong) and so would hopefully deter many from taking them.

Yeah and the Jones fanboys to this day still cling to the ripped fuel charade that Roys legal team fabricated 3 weeks after the positive steroids test. The fanboy steroid apologists are just as bad as the steroid cheats themselves :-(
