Rios is washed up as are Manny and Alvarado.
Danny is still a top guy.
He might bee limited but hes still at his best.

Listen, I didn't wanna have to go into this but I have a story about Danny "S" Garcia. I totally understand why people don't like him. I used to be kind of a fan but one day in the spring of 2015, I was at a grocery store with Danny. We was in the same line. We made small talk. "Hey, how you doin', champ? Good to see you, brother. How are you?" That kind of thing; you know how it is. He seemed like a nice guy-genuine. He was graceful, charismatic, gentlemanly,...humble...or so I thought.

We worked our way up the line. He had a Twix bar and some cashews and I think a parsnip or a white carrot or something. Anyways, so, I picked up a magazine that had Jennifer Lawrence's nipple barely hidden by a t-shirt on it. I tucked it underneath my left arm, as opposed to my right, so as not to arouse suspicion. Danny noticed. He's got the eyes of a cat, like most championship fighters do. There was a faint trace of a smirk on his masculine but feline facial features and I believed it was an approving one. He knew, I knew-let's leave it at that. You know what I'm sayin'.

So, anyways, I had just bought out all the Melinda's hot sauce the store had left. I don't give two ****s about Marie Sharp's plight. I gotta have what I gotta have. I'm just a man in the world, doing what I do. She's got her own, I've got my own, 'nough said. So, anyways, Danny was all cool, right? He says to me, he says, like, here's what he says: He says "Yo, so you must really like hot sauce then, huh?" and you know what? I was trippin' because, like, he didn't have to ask me about myself like that and be personable or curious about another man's business. I was impressed and even more than that, I was proud. But even MORE than that...I was fooled.

The lady in front of us forgot her lady wallet contents and it caused a commotion in front of us but I was like "Yo, I like to make these potstickers, champ. I take ginger, Melinda's, some ground up barbecued pork and some scallions and minced up cabbage-" I was saying and he actually stopped me. He stopped me to ask about how minced up the cabbage was like he was interested in my potsticker recipe. I was like "Dizzamn, this dude really is real." and I told him almost like you was about to make a nice coleslaw, but don't put no mayo on it, just mix it up with the pork and that's for the filling. "Damn, as a boxing fan, bro-er-I mean champ, it feels so good to talk to a real dude that's for real but is a champ and he's interested in other people too, yo." I gushed, and that's when he smiled a boyish but handsome smile and shrugged one shoulder, self-deprecatingly. I felt flush.

So, anyways, it was my turn up at the register. I had already walked Danny through my potsticker recipe that's been in my family since whenever. A recipe that we *treasured* and that I wouldn't have even begun to have shared if it were not for my feeling starstruck by the man that is also a man who has knocked out Amir Khan. So, like I'm sayin', I get up to the checkout girl, who's a fine older woman that's Melaniapolysian or something, and I asked to her about these grapes that I'd bought from there like three days before. I says to her, I says "Hey, Beckany. Yo, girl, I bought some of those grapes in the grape aisle and yo, girl, they said they were seedless, but then I found some seeds in 'em, girl. Damn. Like three of 'em."

That's when I was completely blindsided. Just before the checkout girl was about to say something that I assumed was gonna be conciliatory, Danny was like "'Sup! You cannot expect every grape to be without seeds just because they're marked seedless, sir! Nature maintains variation, despite man's best efforts! Slow your roll and lower your expectations to what's reasonable." he scolded. Damn. I felt like I had been shot. The flip this dude know about produce? He turned on me like a civilized but yet still very rabid dog. I was betrayed.

Twenty-four hours later, I saw Danny and the checkout girl walking out of the museum together, with their hands locked tighter than Marlon Starling's guard, yo. I was lost in a dream. I didn't know which way to go. I didn't want them to see me. This punk didn't know nothin' about no grapes. He just wanted the checkout girl. But she wasn't no checkout girl. She was an older checkout woman. A lady. Straight up, now, tell me, does he know how to treat her? Does he know what she needs? Can he rub her feets with special ointments and things? Was he gonna love her forever? Did he catch her up in a hit-and-run? Was she just another Amir Khan for him and his hook, and me, just some kind of pawn caught in the slammin' door of the king's board? Time is standing still.

So, anyway's, Danny Garcia is a straight up FAKE-ASS PUNK! End thread.

I hate Danny as well, it’s so painfully obvious that his post fight comments were “self serving” because how’s it possible for a boxer to empathize with another boxer lmao.

Amazing how we are only 1000 or so miles apart and apparently grew up around similar folks and yet our perspective and approach is so vastly different. In many ways I wish I could be influenced more by instinctive self purely reacting based on what I view as right, wrong or natural but unfortunately I was cursed with an analytical obsession. Anywho, I guess Danny doesn’t get the benefit of the doubt here.

I saw this and thought the same thing. Danny is a good egg. He definitely is a very likable guy and a very talented fighter. Danny showed a lot of ring rust against Rios but I think he can still recapture his previous form with a couple of stay busy fights. I wish him well and respect his accomplishments

The hate Garcia get's is over the top, he's a bit corny etc but he's ok. He's got the reputation of a cherry picker but has a better resume and has fought better competition than half of the fighters you lot fawn over.

Nice touch from Danny. I've never thought He was a bad guy. His cherry picking bugs me and his father really bugs me but Danny himself seems like a decent enough person.

In all seriousness, Rios looked way more inspired against Garcia than he did against Timmeh. He had his best round in forever against a higher class opponent in the sixth and was competitive in several others. I don't think this version of Rios would have come close to beating Desert Storm, but he probably doesn't fold quite as meekly as the bloated version that faced Bradley a couple of years earlier.

I think Danny may have been a bit impressed with the effort Rios produced and gave him some props. The fact that he's cherry picked in the past (and present) doesn't necessarily exclude the possibility of a show of respect altogether.

I picked Garcia in the league.

My intention was always to switch to Garcia before the fight, the only ones I stuck with that were longshots, of which I went with all of before the weekend, was Groves and Ortiz, because they were the only ones I believed in. I wanted to go with Rios, because I wanted him to win, but I knew he couldn't outbox Danny and he wouldn't win on the cards.

And for the record I knew he'd be competitive at times, which is why I wasn't one of the haters of this match, but in Garcia and Haymon's eyes, they saw a shot fighter they were preying upon.

I was cursed with hyper logical analytical obsession as well, as in literally after taking a Jungian 100 question temperament test like 10 times, I've come out as a Logician personality type every time. Which is roughly 1-3% of the population. Maybe its because you're reacting emotionally to Garcia that you paint him in such a good light, whereas I am completely cold and analytical in my assessment of him and his motives and have no such reasons to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Didn't see the switch. I stand corrected. That said, I'd still take this iteration of Rios over the version that faced Timmeh.
