Dubois is a majorly flawed fighter and he will never truly be great.

Daniel is not an overthinker to say the least but to make Dubois think is to make him quit. His run of three wins was handpicked style wise for him. I don’t judge a man for deciding to not continue going so he can fight another day but its clear he could have kept going when he was on the floor. He got up and walked to his corner waiting for the ref to count to 10. The heart clearly isn’t there. When things aren’t going his way, he crumbles. A winner’s heart but only when he’s winning

For straightforward heavyweight scraps, he’s solid. I see him winning and losing some in the future but the lack of defensive skills, Next to no head movement and lack of heart when the tough gets going he will always get found out along the way. Parker would outbox him and probably hurt him along the way and Kabayel’s body shots will have him crying for his daddy in the ring.

The AJ win was his best night and it will probably stay that way. Was it AJ on a off night or is it AJ can’t deal with pressure especially when its applied early? Probably a bit of both honestly.

He's like a toy solider that needs to have his trainer and dad to keep him motivated to not quit round to round. Looking around his corner trying to find his dad while in an undisputed fight not even halfway through the rounds like a lost child in a supermarket. The whole dynamic of his relationship with his father comes off like he’s just an experiment of him pursuing his father’s dream and he’s had no say in the matter or any genuine thought of his own. The struggle to remember to thank his trainer or anyone outside his dad is shameful. I might be looking into this way too much but whenever I see interviews with this man and his team he just seems to be so manufactured by family, promoters, trainers and British media without a single genuine thought of his own.

The denying to talk about his losses and reflect on them in interviews just shows how mentally weak this man is to be a heavyweight fighter and will likely never truly grow and learn from his losses and honestly, we will likely get the same old Daniel after this Usyk loss. I predict his career will have a couple more decent wins but more embarrassing odd losses when its time to truly step up outside of fighters that let their face be target practice for him.

Dubois is on limited time. He has yet to face all the other contenders of this era like Ajagba, Sanchez, Zhang, Wardley, Bakole, Parker, Kabayel, Okolie, Ruiz and he's not guaranteed to beat any of them because he already lost to Joyce and has a controversial win over Lerena. Not to mention the new generation is already on the horizon, Huni, Torrez and Itauma are already here

He was never reigning champion material

Dubois's is destined to be a gatekeeper. The new prospects will use him as a stepping stone because he has a win over Anthony Joshua and fought Usyk.

Odd thought -- Chisora. On paper, I'd expect Dubois to win, probably blast Chisora out. But in reality? A man with shaky confidence / warrior heart, up against an (admittedly aging) man who is like the ancient Greek archetype of a warrior? I could see Dubois being mind****ed and intimated by Chisora mid fight, ending up KO'd.

Low-tier intangibles up against s-tier intangibles...

Dubois has actually beaten good fighters in Hrgovic and AJ and I'd expect him to keep doing so as he is still quite young, but defo no chance of him being an ATG thats for sure.

Dubois got lucky that he fought the PTSD version of AJ. He also headbutted Hrgovic into oblivion with zero repercussions. I honestly think Hrgovic would outbox him over 10 or 12 rounds with the right officials and fair refereeing. The Lerena, Joyce, and Usyk fights showed that he's a Euro-level fighter, but fair play to him and Frank, they've made an absolute fortune despite all this.

Let's be honest, he smokes prime joshua. Dubois as a 19 year old KO'd joshua in sparring. Aj is just overrated. But I do agree I'd take Hrgovic to beat him in a rematch

AJ is overrated, but even then, Dubois fought a total shell of him, which made him look indestructible. It was great matchmaking by Frank and got Dubois a generational payday and rematch against the actual champion who had already dismantled him.

I think its quite obvious he has autism and its probably the main reason he shuts off when he is trouble in fights.

Dubois is flawed, but so are most fighters at heavyweight. He is a fun fighter to watch and he takes on all comers. He's basically willing to fight anyone.

He beat 3 very good fighters recently... AJ, Hrgovic and Miller. That's more than can be said about most fighters. I'll still be a fan of his because he's always in exciting fights.

When Usyk is not around, he can still be a champ again.

To be fair, no one said he's going to be truly great. He's virtually guaranteed to have a good career now if he wants it.

Dubois has definitely been overrated based on his recent run of form pre-Usyk. A lot of people were making him out to be a fighter he wasn't.

He is definitely a capable fighter though, and could win a title again if the desire is still there. Although his flaws have been clearly exposed to all now, its another thing altogether for a fighter not named Usyk to take advantage of them, Dubois' jab is no slouch.

But yeah, it's why I disagreed with a lot of people saying he would destroy Parker in 5 rounds. That assertion was based on not a whole lot.

Likely so but also boxing since he was a young kid taking blows to the head with next to no defensive skills (or losing them along the way) Isn’t helping his brain to even form a sentence let alone process any fight worth thinking about.

yeah he could be champ again but only from cherry picked match making. Can we honestly say that Zhang can’t land major knock out power on Dubois with his poor defence and make him quit? Or the much older chisora can’t come out the winner of a war against a much mentally weaker Dubois?
Dubois is not a take all comers fighter and I think a fair amount of modern heavyweights would embarrass him. He will have some cherry picked matches again and end up having some embarrassing no heart quit losses.

Minor setback, losing to an ATG.
    He'll have a long career.
When you have this much quit in you, it's hard to take a lot of damage.
