Great, he's hitting the pads fast and hard, Usyk is just as fast, so there's no advantage. Now... what's he going to do to fix that special needs level ring IQ of his? This is mensa level vs. a kindergartner
Saw him interviewed and he's a changed man- confident, articulate and funny. If he's rediscovered his pre-Joyce potential then this could be interesting.
Dubois lost to no head movement Joyce. A punching bag moves around more than Joyce. Dubois loses badly over 12, may even have a mental breakdown and start dressing like Caroline.
Dubois is young enough that he'll get more opportunities later on if he fails here. But it would be nice for the next generation of heavyweights if Dubois looks good and wins ... so we have a young champion moving ahead. It's always preferable that belts change hands in the ring. Not when they are vacated or stripped. Also, Usyk was dropped by a body shot in the World Series of Boxing. So going to the body isn't a bad plan. Usyk can duck and dodge all he wants, but his ribs are always right there. Just dig away.
Heavyweights get mesmerized by head punches. Even in the pros, body shots don't seem to count as much to judges when it comes to the scorecards and winning rounds. But, if you're Dubois, and you're the big underdog, and winning on points isn't really a sensible plan, just go hard to the body all night and worry about throwing to the head when you're in close. Usyk seems to have a solid chin. But, he's gone down from a body shot. So dig, dig, and dig some more to the ribs. Don't stop. If you're Dubois, you're not winning a lot of rounds on the cards anyway. Try to break the older guy down to the body.
So simple, right? I wonder why no coach or team member of any fighter Usyk faced in the last ten years since his WBS days thought of that. I just love the arrogance of your type of poster, mate. “I’ll solve something in two sentences that no professional coaches or fighters could in ten years. I know my ****!” Keep at it, mate. You are entertaining.
He definitely have the size and power to cause Usyk trouble. Usyk is much more skilled, but people need to realize that Dubois has power and he's got a natural 30-40 lb advantage. It's a dangerous fight for sure. Any fight against a power puncher when you're undersized is dangerous.
I would like Dubois to win and his next opponent to be Hrgovic, that fight would be more interesting to watch because of their styles.
Dubois has one shot here, catching Usyk with a Hasim Rahman type shot that stopped Lennox Lewis. He has the power. Unfortunately he doesn't have anything else to worry Usyk and should probably lose a 119-109, or 118-110 type decision.
