They should get him in to train him. Especially vs the giant elites. Start from scratch. Dubois looked **** trying to stand tall - couldn't move his head, was being easily timed. And with a suspect heart - well he needs to employ the Tyson bob n weave and get in close, vary his shots and get the other guy outta there, early.
Do you have any idea how ridiculously hard it is to fight like Tyson? Dubois needs to work on a lot of things, but emulating Tyson won´t get him far at all.
That seek and destroy style obviously won't work for Dubois. But I think he could do with trimming down, and going back to the basics. He was looking like that phony bodybuilder Joshua with his muscles bulging all over the place.
The **** did you just write? Move dem hips? Yes, Dubois needs to learn head movement. He needs to learn techniques on how to deal with an opponents jab: how to counter, how to jab with the opponent, how to defend. He needs to learn about feinting and how to set his offense up a lot better. It´s not just about rushing in with combos in explosive bursts, which he isn´t capable of doing for 12 rounds. Something he just learned. The key for Dubois isn´t to hide behind the peek a boo guard and start bobbing and weaving. It will get him nowhere. It will just hide some of his flaws. Did you watch the undercard? There we had Massey vs Bayad. Bayad does what you ask of Dubois. He is basically a discount Tyson. What happened? He bobbed and weaved and got outboxed. How so? Because that is all he did. He didn´t know what else to do. He had no idea how to set up his offense, how to to cut off the ring or how to even counter.
No one agrees with you. Dubois is too tall and slow to use the Peek a boo defense. He doesn’t have enough fast twitch muscle. The biology is wrong. Thread is pointless
Dubois has the necessary strength and power but he can't move like Tyson because he is bulkier and heavier...
Omg. Its not about bulk and size. What about this do you guys not comprehend? Nevermind, its the general forum, so I'm guessing a lot Tyson had very rare, very exceptional athleticism, for one. In all facets - handspeed, footspeed, and reflexes. Thats independent of size - its called talent, which Dubois doesn't have. Moreover, who's gonna effectively teach him the peak-a-boo even if he wanted to learn? D'Amato is dead. Kevin Rooney i don't think trains guys anymore. That leaves one guy who knows the peak-a-boo in and out... Teddy Atlas, and Dubois is too mentally weak for Atlas to take him on.
Dubois is too big and uncoordinated to fight like Tyson. Every move would take more time and effort on his body and opponents would tag him rather easy. Peek-a-boo is for small, compact and explosive fighters such as Tyson or his precursor Floyd Patterson.
