Dubois Speaks: 'I want to shock the world, knock him out and end the reign of Usyk'

Dubois' confidence is shot right now. His offensive ability in 2018 wasn't enough to put shopworn journeyman Kevin in any real trouble, his best win by a country mile just got KO'd in 3 by Wardley, Joyce made him blatantly quit in 10 virtually on jabs alone and he was dropped 3x in the first round in his last fight by a lightly regarded, light punching, 10/1 underdog cruiser southpaw who is 1-1 with one of Usyk's early fodder opponents. Dubois is also still apparently recovering from an ACL injury and his trainer has said that Usyk's a bad stylistic matchup for him...

So in other words it's not happening. This is just an attempt to haggle for a bigger step aside fee. Dubois is still very young by HW standards, needs more much experience (only one of his opponents ever seriously came to win, and he did, while Lerena almost won accidentally), can retain his ranking and his "regular" belt and not receive another psychologically devastating defeat by stepping aside for a serious challenger, aka Wilder.

 

There're other ways to say you're ready and not scared even if your chances are like 10%. But I hope he at least feels confident of what he's saying. I doubt it, considering his last performance, but I always leave the option for the man being way more stupid than expected.

 

If Dubois beat Usyk I think the entire Universe would be shocked.

Frank gave an interview yesterday saying disparaging stuff about the Usyk V Dubois fight. "Good luck making good money from that" or words to that effect. Dubois was sitting next to him at the time.

Poor Daniel is being used by the Fury side as an insult lol.

 

Sad that a guy whose two best wins are Trevor Bryan and a coin flip between a handful of top 50-75 type guys, can have a mandatory.

Dubois getting knocked out every week in sparring from what I heard.

Hrgovic and Bakole have both claimed to have stopped him in sparring.

WTF? Even if the "brother" upsets a much older Usyk, why would that bring respect back to the HW division?

DD lost his biggest fight and had trouble vs. a near nobody in his last fight. I wouldn't put too much faith into DD.
Not until he shows some consistency vs. top HWs. Wilder-DD is unlikely given their age diffs.
