Dubois was schooled and busted up. When his big power shots didn't work he had no plan b against a guy with more pedigree and superior technique. Credit to Joe Joyce, implemented the perfect plan and wore him down.
Better chin than I thought, stamina was better than I thought, punch was less than advertised, lack of head movement will always haunt him, eye swelling issue could permanent. Needs a new corner team, they should have stopped the fight.
This was Dubois step up fight and Joyce from what I have seen is a iron chinned bad man a little stiff but a legit fighter so far.......IMO the pedigree showed a fighter like DDD has not been thrown in the deep end until tonight and I thought a looked good....usually a fighter gets lumped up in his career sooner or later and has to make a decision to dig in or take a knee..I am not sure DDD has been in this situation before tonight. IMO protect your fighter but you have to develop them with a hard fight and resolve is part developed and mostly instinct. What DDD does in his next test is when we will know. Joyce on the other hand has a chin from hell and a cold emotionless deneanor in the ring much like Joe Louis, his goid skills, size and strength is a problem for the division.
Questions had been raised previously about Dubois's ability to take a shot. His chin isn't prove glass, just suspect
What questions? He wasn´t hurt once. He took a knee because he ate a jab to that ****ed up eye of his. If anything, his heart is in question.
Don't think we really know right now, he was never hurt vs Joyce but Joyce only landed a few solid power shots and he's more of a heavy handed beat you down kind of puncher rather than a one shot take you out kind of guy. But doesn't matter how good his chin is if he doesn't move his head. He either needs to learn some head and upper body movement or adopt a high guard like many guys with no head movement do.
Can't believe how utter bollocks both are, Joyce is terrible, looked ****, an Dubois is even worse. Neither comeout of that looking like anything other than basic domestic level
