I don't see how the las can trust Bowers in the corner again. Not pulling Daniel out nearly cost him his sight and future. Jeez, Bowers is almost as brave as Bulldog.
Wasn't part of the reasoning because Dillian got used to training in Portugal and discovered that Mark Tibbs doesn't use Excel spreadsheets like some of these new age trainers lol
I think he and the yes men around him saw this as an easy fight against a slow plodding punchbag. As soon as Joyce got a foothold in the fight and his power didn’t make any impact he was a deer in the headlights and wanted a way out. He can and will come back as he is a good athlete with serious power and a good jab when he actually uses it. New trainer and team a good idea IMO
Coldwell would fatten him up like he did with David Price, where the boxer gained 2 and a half stones and was made to think that he was far too thin before when he was actually in very good condition. Coldwell believes that the fatter you are, the better and one has to wonder if he aspires to work with Andy Ruiz Jr and what would happen if he did.
Agree regarding power and being a serious athlete mate, and I agree he can come back,I just feel he lacks confidence and heart. He always seems to be saying what he thinks he should be saying, rather than what he himself believes Even his latest ifl tv vid he just seems to be going through the motions regarding his patter,I sense no self belief You can be as fit and have all the power you like, but if you lack belief you are on the back foot straight away and I worry DDD doesn't have enough grit about him Just my take
Dubois should go with his tail between his legs to Joshua and apologise. Ask to work alongside him and McCracken. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see the similarities between early Joshua and current Dubois, McCracken done an excellent job at that stage of the career. He would also be learning and sparring alongside a unified world champion. Dubois is young, he can take a few years to build his way back up to world level, he doesn’t need to see Joshua / Fury as potential rivals as they’ll most likely be gone when he’s reaching his peak.
Both Fury and Tony Dosh PPV will most likely be gone after the PPV Mugths get a double poking at £40.99 as they both sail off with unprecedented levels of PPV Loot minus commission paid to the Drugs Cartel. Big DDD is probably at his peak and it looks that way given that he could not get past the slowest jab in boxing - any puncher such as Wilder or boxer such as Usyk would eat him alive. Hope he proves me wrong but it looks like Big Dave Price all over again.
That could be difficult at the moment with covid restrictions, besides I'm not sure it would suit him. Family and community seem very important to him. I think this is a good move. If I were his friend I'd have told him to seek a new trainer after that fight. It was obvious he was done and there didn't look any chance of a big punch turning it around. He should've been withdrawn and then the trainer could've taken the 'blame' and Frank and co could've blagged that he was still very much in the fight, ahead on cards etc etc. New trainer will also help in the relaunch when he's wheeled back out.
What has this angel produced. Various boxers have left him? Name me one fighter he has brung through from scratch ?? Ok he works with AJ but so does a martial arts expert that specialises in breathing and mind over matter. Obvs there is a place for the mental side of boxing. But can’t imagine Joshua being anywhere near the level he is without Rob McCracken ( a proper boxing man ) Angel is a gimmick when he produces a kid from 0 bout pro to a champion then you should use his name. I think a dark horse for dubious if was willing to move away would be Peter Fury. He teaches boxing and dubious would have hughie to move around with.
I did think Dubois was gonna stop Joyce, and was surprised how Joyce just took all those hard shots in the early rounds to comeback and grind him down. If Daniel had went the full distance and lost on points, I don't think the loss would be too bad. I don't consider Dubois technically limited. He probably realises he's not going to be successful with that come forward style, and a change of direction is best for him. I see a lot of similarities with Bruno.
