SJam CLOWNING Joshua in the press conference, saying they turned down Joyce cause he wasnt "credible" but now is fighting Andy Ruiz and Trevor Bryant @Serge
You have to fancy Joyce for this one Dubois is in over his head. The hungry veteran gets the win. No idea what Frank's been smoking is he going to throw Gorman in with the winner?!
Dubois hasn’t been in with anyone who hits back never mind someone as relentless as Joyce. He’s slow and ponderous and mightn’t be the biggest of punchers but he doesn’t stop coming forward. We know absolutely nothing about Dubois’ defence, his chin and how he boxes on the back foot but obviously he can certainly bang. It’s an intriguing one. I think Gorman gets the loser.
I wonder if BT Sport has backed Frank in order to take advantage of Matchroom's boxers being tempted by DAZN riches? Whatever, if we get Joyce Dubois and Dubois/Joyce Gorman in the next few months then that's good going from Queensbury and shows they've reacted to Fury upping sticks for ESPN. I'd like that as I think he's the best boxer and I really enjoy watching him but I have a suspicion he will never have the physical gifts needed to dominate at HW. He's also looked a bit less impressive last couple of outings when I was hoping he was going to show progression.
We might be getting ahead of ourselves, thinking this fight is more or less made. Warren was saying in his interview with IFL today, that Dubois' situation with the Lartey fight falling through, might change the plans for his next fights. I also saw that Umar IFL said in a tweet that Joyce told him that fighting Kabayel or Charr are more likely than Dubois for him this year. Not gonna lie, I'll be gutted if Joyce vs Dubois doesn't happen now. The signs were looking good for that getting made.
I’m not too fussed if it doesn’t happen, seemed a strange one. Too soon for Dubois and a backward step for Joyce. Would be one I’d look forward to but I don’t think it makes sense...has got people talking about both though...
It was never officially announced as a done deal. They notified the BBBoC that they'd came to an agreement and there was no need for a purse bid. Add to that, Joyce signing a promotional deal with Warren the same day, it was looking like it was/is happening. Maybe Dubois-Lartey getting called off genuinely has changed their plans. Maybe it depends on getting another proper fight in for Dubois before they put him in with Joyce. He's not going to get that with 2 a days notice opponent for Saturday. Warren was saying it's not even a definite he fights on Saturday anymore.
Prime Tom Dallas beats them both, the original Juggernaut, David Price before David Price, ironically derailed and destroyed by the Scouser.
This will be a classic all out war if it is made. I have to fancy Dubois to come through this one and get a knock out after being outboxed and possibly dropped himself in the opening rounds. Power is one hell of an equaliser at HW, and Dubois has a significant advantage in terms of punching power.
