The best fights have context and meaning. Maybe I am being too slow on the uptake, but I do not see the plus side to this fight for either fighter. Perhaps a dozen fights down the line I get it, it would be fight we would want to see.

Sometimes we need to wait as the fancy, as things can come too soon.

Does this say anything about Warren's opinion on Dubois that he'll risk him and not Gorman?

Could be the opposite. Doesn’t fancy Gorman to step up. Will plod him along slowly then use his unbeaten record as a perfect fodder for Dubois to destroy.

Joyce must be very confident to take this fight. I think joyce will have to much. On the other hand I can see Dubois thinking he is bound to hit joyce a lot. Great fight. If I was in charge of either I would have gone a different route but fair play to both of them.

Better than not coming at all though. Dubois could certainly bide his time no doubt, but time is not on Joyce's side so he needs to do something before he fades away. A great fight can also elevate the stock of both fighters, such that neither is a 'loser' in terms of their career.

This. Warren did say after Joyce got ordered he wants to make that then the gorman fight later this year.

This will be a great fight if it happens. Couldn't pick a winner. I wasn't blown away by Joyce against Stiverne, he's slow as hell and defensively open, though maybe he'll try a bit harder in that respect if he is worried about what's coming back. But he is heavy handed himself and has a high work rate. It might well just come down to who can take a shot better.

I think he's right, it would be great to see. It's rare that you see two highly rated young, undefeated British fighters go at it whilst both are still in the prospect stage (feels odd to say that about a 34 year old, but that's boxing nowadays). I can't think of too many similar matchups, maybe Groves-Degale, Saunders-Eubank, Joshua-Whyte. Not too many others that spring to mind. And all of those fights, the loser went on to do alright.

If they fight now it doesn't mean they can't fight later on too.

This is a good British title heavyweight match up.
    In the recent tradition of Joshua-Whyte, Fury-Chisora 1 .... unfortunately we didn't get Fury-Price.

Now it looks like Joyce has signed. Win win for Warren. Good signing. He's really holding the prospect cards in the UK now at heavyweight.

Great fight if it happens and fair play to both, would back Joyce stoppage in the later rounds I think
