Yes I think you are right. I was starting to think he could rebuild after the loss to Joyce but you could see how much he doesn't like to be hit back last night. He threw himself to the floor rather than take the incoming shots
Harsh to say Dubois is chinny, it was a head shot which made him go funny. Joyce didn’t drop him properly ( eye injury ) Having said all that, I don’t think he beats the top echelon of fighters in the HW division but he can bang and is properly the hardest hitter after Wilder.
Complete over-reaction on here about his chin/punch resistance. Just watched it again and the punch wasn’t really hard, just got him in an awkward place. He has taken way harder shots through his career without issue - calling him David Price or glass cannon at this point is ridiculous. As for Daniels comments afterwards, it was all very weird, but he was clearly not concussed or anything after the 1st round; he was clear eyed and engaged with Shane and followed his instructions.
You’re a joker mate. He took a clean punch in the head from a man weighing 230lb whilst coming forward on the attack and you call that an example of being a Glass Cannon. He didn’t even seem particularly frozen by it anyway.
I remember a time when tyson fury got put on his arse by Steven Cunningham......... Hasn't done him any harm in the long run
Joyce is one of the top boys. Do you remember Fatty Fudge destroying a myth? This content is protected
There is an element of overreaction here for sure. This sort of thing does happen, it even happens in sparring from time to time and is certainly nothing out of the ordinary. It was the first minute and a half of the first round, and Dubois was caught cold, that played a role for sure, he was stepping into the punch so to speak which made it worse, and lastly it was a on the top of the head- those 3 factors all resulted in him losing his bearings and balance. No need to make a big drama out of it. 'Fighter get's hit in an awkward spot by 17 stone man and briefly loses balance'- hardly a revelation is it? He lost his balance for a minute and a half, probably was a bit dizzy as well for some part of those 90 seconds. He recovered well enough, and stopped Lerana after that with no problems whatsoever. If anything he showed how good his power was dispatching him just 2 rounds later in brutal fashion despite losing his balance badly early on. Dubois is on the right path, and will win a world title IMO. Is he brilliant- No? But he is a top fighter and as Fury, AJ, and Usyk are all very much in the final part of their careers, in a weak division Dubois will win a world title of some description and have a good career as despite his flaws he has too many great attributes and too much backing not to.
Which harder shots are you talking about exactly, as far as I remember Joyce only hit him with a jab.
