Dubois vs Dinu WBA Interim

I think the winner of this fight is going to make the lineal definition more meaningful in the eyes of the casual fan.

If they choose to carry on, then they can effectively allow others to scrap for the various belts but they will still be the man to beat. Meanwhile they box the likes of Zhang for high reward low risk exhibition fights with nothing to pay to the alphabet orgs.

 

That will probably be the case. I think others may end up pursuing unification and what not more than Joshua or Fury, because I think once one or both achieve the feat, they will then lose interest. It's somewhat unfortunate that the undisputed recognition can never last too long, due to governance, but I don't really care about the belts. It would just be good to see the best compete against the best, just like in the vast majority of other sports.

 

Pretty sure Dinu would be Dubois' best win in the pro ranks.

I should've added that it's in the promoters interests that the question of undisputed rapidly gets clouded. Without the question of would x beat y the sport grinds to a halt. So whilst the winner will be the man until toppled, the sooner the promoters can start the narrative of 'ah, but what about Usyk, Hrgovic, Hunter etc etc the sooner they'll drive interest in a new showdown. So it goes.

 

The WBA, I think they are struggling, they must be, they do things that just look desperate.

Also, Shannon Courtenay Vs Ebanie Bridges, a handful of fights between them, way down the rankings and it's a world title fight.

The WBA are awful, they are quickly turning in to a joke title, actually they probably are already.

 

So is this interim for the regular or super belt ? Surely we need interim-regular and interim-super belts. And possibly interim-interim-regular and interim-interim-super belts.

WBA we desperately need more belts.
