I do think Dubois is going to let big shots go against Joyce early whos shown he's there to be hit as he's prone to starting slow. Joyce for me needs to get a ****ing good sweat on in the changing room before entering the ring to ensure that renown engine of his already motoring. As has been said throughout the build up I'm firmly of the "Dubois early or Joyce late" belief.
Anybody else see that Hearn IFL interview yesterday? Hearn made a comment about heavyweights in his stable who have seriously hurt Dubois in sparring. And then said something like he can dish it it but can he take it? It would be interesting to know which heavyweights.
Maybe, maybe not. I'm sure Hearn has kept on eye on Dubois, he is ranked 2 with the WBO, he could end up facing AJ at some point. We all know Hearn talks crap, spins crap, like before the Usyk Chisora fight Hearn was saying how Usyk couldn't punch hard enough, and Usyk was too light and too pitter patter for heavyweight, trying to dismiss the idea of Usyk fighting AJ, it just wouldn't be worth it. But neglected to tell us about his conversations with Dave Allen who was basically knocked out on his feet (Allens own words) and Allen didn't remember a thing after the punch and Hearn had to ring Usyks team to check on Allen and that eventually led to Allens retirement. Allen is, well, he was regarded as a durable heavyweight, would have been interesting if before that fight Hearn told us all Usyk put Allen in to a walking coma. So I take these stories from Hearn with a pinch of salt, but he never normally speaks on sparring like that to be fair to him, so I'm sure something happened.
Big call mate. I can’t see anything past a Dubois stoppage. Joyce is too slow. He’s 35 gets hit way too easily, Stiverne was unloading on him.
Maybe, but I look at the Kevin Johnson fight and Dubois being dragged the distance, I look at the Lartey fight and then see Wardley blitz him in better fashion. I know styles make fights, I understand that, but there are questions over Dubois still, he hasn't been in a fight yet. There have been rumours about his chin but nearly every fighter gets that, gym stories are always thrown around with up and coming fighters. I agree, Joyce has flaws, he can't go in to this one static and plodding.. he needs to start faster and be a little smarter and I think he will. He has a solid amateur pedigree, he can box, he needs to go back to boxing and be sensible and not get dragged in to a War early and I think Dubois will fade.
I'm going for Dubois within 4. I'm not sold on Joyce's chin and he is too slow and has a porous defence. A pretty terrible mix against Dubois. Can't really see a way of Joyce winning. Not convinced he has one punch knockout power, so he really needs to just put it on Dubois and hope he tires.
each their own but boxing promoters just lie about everything, i just don't see the point in listening to their propaganda anymore.
