I like both of them and will be happy if either wins. A really tough one to call, Joyce seems so slow and sluggish, but is powerful and relentless, Dubois seems to have the skills but is untested against anyone decent. A great fight, getting excited now. Any decent odds, or is it pretty much even stevens?
Cheers bud, not had a chance to check yet. Worth a few quid at those odds, especially as it seems a genuine 50/50 fight.
My money is on Dubois to clean Joyce out somewhere between 3-6 rounds. For such a big fight which on paper either can win, I find it hard to come up with a case for Joyce. Dubois is the better technical fighter, he’s the harder more correct puncher, he’s got faster hands and he’s th3 younger fresher man and possibly the meaner animal in the ring. Joyce has quicker feet and he is of course very durable, but he has poor defence and most importantly he doesn’t have an authoritative jab to keep Daniel at bay. Great fight to look forward too.
Shame one has to lose at this stage as i believe both are good enough to challenge for world titles. Hope joe wins only because he doesnt have time on his side to recover from a loss. If i had to pick a winner id say dubois but it could go either way.
You'd have to elaborate as to why you deem Joyce good enough to challenge and/or dismantle the likes of Fury and Joshua.
That's why it's *almost* win win for Dubois even if he loses. It gives him an excuse to go away and fight a few more low level fighters under the guise of 'rebuilding' for a couple of years. In that time he'd be hoping the likes of Fury/Joshua/Usyk are on their way out and there'd be a vacuum as the guard changes. Then again, maintaining an '0' is important in marketing fighters in the modern era. In theory this should be a fantastic fight and I'm looking forward to it.
I’m as giddy as Barrymore at a pool party for this fight. In many ways it’s a lot bigger than Joshua v Whyte a few years ago. Almost all of us thought Joshua was levels above and would knock him out, which he did. This one is closer to a 50/50 and each have at least one half decent domestic name on their records. Although you have to favour Dubois, a case can be made for both lads to win. I think it all comes down to whether Joyce can take Dubois’s power. If he can, then can Dubois handle Joyce’s work rate and punch output down the stretch. Personally, I don’t think we’ll get to see Dubois’s gas tank tested as it will all be over by round 6 as I can see the ref jumping in and saving Joyce.
I reckon this is going to do huge numbers on BT. Fury's return vs Seferi did 800k, I think this should match that.
