Use that same money to back Wardley.

If course it's not close to it, he hasn't fought at that level yet, but no one ever has until they do.

The best name he'll have knocked out will be Dubois, followed by Clarke.

I admire your optimism. We'll see when they fight.

On one hand I'm happy to see someone new.

On the other hand Wardley isn't in my personal top 10 and he doesn't have a really big win yet.

Dubois the rightful favourite. Wardley a puncher's chance.

Joshua and Hearn will probably outwait Dubois and then claim Dubois ducked the rematch.

Not an ideal match-up, but at least it is a new match-up.

At the same time, it seems a bit early for Wardley to get a title shot (undeserved). And I'm a bit surprised IBF okayed it because he technically doesn't have a top 10 ranking.

Hopefully this isn't a sign of Warren copying the Haymon/Wilder playbook, and just matching Dubois with whatever in-house opposition he can get the org to sign off on.

But a new match-up is far better than Joshua getting an immediate rematch. And maybe the IBF mandate the winner of Bakole/Kabayel after this one.

I don't know how known Wardley is outside the UK especially in the USA. However, this is a tough tough fight for Dubois, Wardley can really hit very hard, he's hungry, he's aggressive, he's tough. They have pretty similar styles.

I do think Dubois is the better boxer though with the better jab and a lot more experience against such competition.

I have to back Dubois by early to mid rounds KO in a slugfest, but I defo would not be surprised if Wardley knocked Dubois out, he is so heavy handed. I think Dubois would probably have to get Wardley out of there and really ping that jab of his, otherwise he may get overwhelmed by his power. Wardley is very very dangerous.

Keen to see the odds for this, saw a post above estimating that Wardley would be 3/1 to win which I agree with.

I have to agree with you on this. This is a very risky fight for Dubois that is no win no win either way for him. We have seen this happen in boxing before.

If the odds are good enough, I'll defo punt on it, I honestly think it could be a 50/50 match up at least.

Wardley is willing to take risks because this is a big opportunity for him, but the question is whether Dubois wants such a risky fight.

    Fight isn't worth the risk

I'd love to see it however

On paper, Joshua was a risky fight. Not on canvas as it turned out though.

If it was to happen, hopefully it happens in the UK, two heavyweight title fights in a row.

There's nothing like a UK crowd and it correlates on TV.

I did state "on paper", I will elaborate if needed...Dubois is on a roll, he's beaten 3 top 10 heavyweights and looked good in doing so...Wardley just beat Frazer Clarke in what was billed as a 50/50 fight...so yea my point stands...reality is different and Wardley as I've said is fast, awkward and powerful and Dubois can be hit and hurt so he's got a chance but Dubois is the big favourite.

Your point doesn't stand unless Dubois has an easy fight, which he won't because he's going to lose.
