zero chance Dubois can stay in a match where they bounce each other off the canvas against Wardley. He’ll quit. can he knock Wardley out and win? Absolutely. In fact, he’s probably the logical favorite to do just that. But a life and death battle coming down to will vs will? I give Dubois almost no chance against Wardley there. Wardley will fight until he’s physically stopped from moving by his opponent (or the ref ends it). Dubois has quit, taken knees, etc.
This is the fight where Wardley's chin gets tested properly. If he can take Dubois best shots and stop him, then he has nobody in the division to really be scared of. I'm not a huge fan of Dubois, but there's no doubt he carries some of the heaviest hands in the division.
I've been waiting for this. The day is finally upon us Wardley is ready, Parker and Huni have prepared him for this moment
eh, Wardley has never been cracked by a guy who can hit like he can. At least not in a pro fight. Maybe in sparring.
If Wardley takes the front foot and outjabs Dubois from the start he can, potentially, make quick work of DDD.
Maybe. Maybe not. Parker seemed able to hurt him some. Dubois hits a lot harder than Parker. I’m always interested in seeing what happens when big punchers finally run up against a guy who can hit like they can. They’re so used to having a power advantage, to taking one to land one being often a good strategy, that it can throw them when they feel for the first time what others must feel when they hit them. Dubois HAS been cracked by a big hitter — AJ. He didn’t go down. He won. Ok then he later got knocked out by a pillow fist (in comparison), so maybe my theory is worthless. just saying. Wardley is used to being the one who can change a fight with a single punch. He isn’t used to the other guy being able to do the same exact thing. I’m actually with you and think Wardley ultimately prevails. But…. I dunno. Dubois is better technically and hits like a truck.
he was given a physical freak humble enough to listen and learn, who seems sane and stable. Good raw material to work with if you can get it.
And clever Btw humility and ability to learn and improve often comes with an above average intelligence
Usyk is clearly not an actual pillow fist. But there’s a large gap in power between him and the top tier punchers, like AJ, Dubois, Wardley, etc.
Dubois made a fortune without becoming a champion. The man somehow gets title shots every year and gets paid $50M per fight. His management is probably the best in the world.
