Wrong. In professional boxing you must present the scoring area to your opponent at all times. A boxer cannot defend himself by ducking too low, turning his back or adopting a passive defence. It is also a rule that you cannot land punches outside the scoring area so when one guy is ducking too low and the the other is landing rabbit punches the ref should warn about the rabbit punches and also warn the other fighter to keep his head up. Failure to adhere to the refs warnings can lead to points deductions and in extreme cases disqualification.

    It's illegal period.
    Just like clinching.

Doesn't get enforced enough by refs.

yup. a lot of illegal moves are being allowed nowadays just because of money. the mecah of boxing is just showing how it is done, unfortunately. boxing really needs to be regulated especially that tons of money are being made which is very attractive for corruption.

I think it's Illegal in pro boxing as well(I could be wrong). But in many cases such as Mayweather, it's nearly impossible to tell if it's below the belt line or not.

Pac fans never tire of talking about this. Even after Floyd beat their hero easy.

Floyd does it, but he isnt the one who makes it the most nor the worst. I didnt mean floyd when I opened this thread, actually I was thinking about whitaker because I just rewatched whitaker vs trinidad that day. Pascal did it a lot in a very annoying way vs gonzález too.

Floyd ducks low, but doesnt last very long, it's not as annoying as whitaker's or pascal's behaviour.

Referees simply aren't strong enough to enforce the rules and never have been. If a ref docked points when he was supposed to for clinching, pushing, holding, ducking, etc., then he would end up docking a lot of points, become very unpopular and find himself out of a job.

    True dat.

Reminds me of Naz V Robinson when at one point Hamed trips his opponent by ducking so low his head sweeps his left foot away. Ridiculous. (see from 1:25 left in Rd 3)
