Ray Leonard. He steered clear of so many even when he excused himself from exile:

Aaron Pryor, Hagler, rematches with Duran and Hearns, Micheal Nunn, Julian Jackson.

Wait, what matches against Duran and Hearns are you talking about. Are you saying he ducked them after having fought Hearns twice and Duran three times? Or are you saying that Ray dodged certain moments in which he didn't fight either Hearns or Duran....either way I'm kinda confused in your statement. Could you clear it up? Just for the Duran and Hearns parts...

he had 2 fights with hearns and 3 with duran.
did he really avoid pryor ? i think pryor could not ever expect a better outcome against him than duran got , and what would it achieve to leonard fighting such a smaller man ? it's a lose-lose situation and i don't think he'd lose in the ring.
but did he really duck pryor ? anyone knows ?

So what constitutes a duck??? Seems way to many variables.

2 fighters who could have met but didn't...so whoever you don't like ducked the other?

a fight that is not made
because management did not want it?
because an agreement could not be reached (again choose the fighter you don't like and blame him)
becuase it is not as lucrative as another deal?
because it is seen as higher risk than the reward would equte to?

or where 1 boxer is truely afraid to fight the other?

someone (Kal) asked it in the more interesting thread (which some moderator closed and this moderator should be banned)
    i did about it .

there you have examples and my answers.
to formalize a 'duck' will be to simply state every wrong act that prevents a fight and is done because a fighter fears from the loss he knows he will suffer (financial reasons are understood in my book , you can not blame someone preferring one fight b/c it will double his income / give him 100k more - this is real money , especially for those who heavily pay with their health for it)

Yes, and indirectly causing a split of the heavyweight title.
