it does depends a lot on the contract and also this is not the only thing i call a 'duck' , forfeiting your mandatory shot like marquez did with hamed and povetkin did with wlad is also a 'duck'.
doing what lewis did with ruiz and foreman and spinks and others did with otherts is also a 'duck' for me.

to this i can answer with a 'no'.

true , didn't he do it with byrd too ? but it does depend on whom he faced instead. like when tarver and johnson both relinquished their belts so they could fight each other and kalambay relinquished his belt so he could fight nunn , and mccallum is belt so he could fight toney.

well , i don't consider them as ducked by floyd. floyd fought much more dangerous opponents. what did anyone of them (ever) do to deserve a shot in him ?
