the British general public are especially gullible when it comes to boxers i'm afraid....bunch of idiots.
those guys won titles, I think if you win a title you have made it, WBO,WBC,IBF,WBA, we are talking about Khan, Harrison of the world.
In an era of mass vacant championships due to rampant weight jumping glory hounds and some of the most ridiculous "rankings" I've ever come across I think "winning a title" has lost most of it's luster.
ok but calling tyson, de la hoya and hatton "dud fighters" is ridiculous, they are all easy hall of famers
Hatton beat a recognized world champion and defended a title and can actually take a punch. He is not a HOF but he is certainly not a dud Unlike Khan, who had beaten nobody, and yet was still called the second coming of Jesus
When Rahman boxed Obed Sullivan in his biggest win prior to the Lewis fight he made very little as a Ced Kushner heavyweight.. Then when he landed that shot in Carnival city south Africa, King had a secret meeting with him to Lure him away from Kushner.. Rahman sold his soul to the Devil for an absolutely rediculous sum i beleive, dropping the very loyal men who actually bust a gut trying to convince Lewis he was worthy of a shot at his titles.. In the Lewis fight and the rematch, Don KIng made Rahman a multi millionaire , something he never was before the lucky strike, and since then i am afraid he really did very little else... apart from dissapoint.. Rahman remains a very very rich man...
If there is one who didn't end up rich after his career and truly deserved it it's Jose Luis Castillo
who called De La Hoya a dud fighter? what i said was that although DLH, Tyson, and Hatton are not duds, they have earned alot more money than they are worth in terms of how good they are, relative to other boxers.
