Well, at least Duddy got him out of there early. Too bad Alcoba had to pull out, I wouldve liked to see that fight. This fight was a bit of a joke, but theres not much you can do, its hard to get a quality opponent on such short notice.

I heard the commentators saying, as the fight ended, that Duddy will fight Pavlik in February. Is that a guarantee? I thought I read an article last week saying that those rumours were bull****. I think Pavlik stops him if they do meet. Duddy still gets hit too much, I think Pavlik finishes him in the mid to late rounds. I like Duddy though, always entertaining to watch.

Macklin looked good - he completely dominated Furlan and beat him much easier than Duddy did

Noe Alcoba would of been but unfortunately he pulled out 4 days ago , there's not much you can do on such short notice especially in a country like Ireland . We don't have that many boxers of our own so the opponent has to be imported and the only place you can import a fighter from on 4 days notice is the UK .

Then you're left with guys who can make the weight and are in reasonable shape, meaning they're either training for a fight or have just fought . That really narrows down the list of fighters and the only reason they bothered getting anyone at all was to keep the card going as Duddy was the headline .

pipe wrenched Dunne has vowed to fight on and come back from his defeat but other than that there has been nothing . I suspect it may have been a shattering defeat for him mentally and I doubt we'll see him back anytime before March .
