i.m.h.o., I don't think his age is such a big factor. I was a big fan, and I just think they screwed up his chances after the Campos fight. His management was so afraid of losing the 0 in the loss column. just wanted the big money fight. He should have been fighting guys like Mora and Lorenzo, 2 years ago. Too bad, He did have some talent and was always fun to watch. I'll still root for him:!:

I agree with this. How many times have we seen a guy who could arguably do well at a lighter weight struggle against lesser fighters at a higher weight? Duddy clearly fits this description. This is often the case with a small heavyweight who would be better suited to fight at cruiserweight. You go tooth and nail with the middle-of-the-road guys and by the time you start fighting at the elite level you have already lost a few years to unnecessary wear and tear. Now granted, Duddy never started fighting the division's elite but he's definitely had more than his share of difficulties against guys like Smichet and the old warhorse Campas. 154 is a pretty weak division and flawed or not, John Duddy could definitely bring some excitement and intrigue if he were to move down.

Are you having a laugh?!?! It is electric compared to middleweight which is the worst division in boxing.

There's a couple of really good names but most of the top ten is eminently beatable (there aren't enough good names to ensure that a belt doesn't stray into the hands of a pushover here and there) . Not saying the top ten at 160 is a murderer's row, but all other things being equal, beating a mediocre light middleweight contender is probably a shorter order than beating a mediocre middleweight contender, no?

You're having a laugh, right? Yeah, getting a title at 160 is so much easier.

Dude, you're considering maybe going to a card featuring Solis-Johnson, Lopez-Mtagwa, Gamboa-Garcia, and Martirosyan-Wolak because perhaps John freaking Duddy will be appearing on it?:lol::lol:

This is better than most HBO PPV cards, and it's going to be a twenty-odd dollar Top Rank affair. For a live show, if you're within a state or two I can't see any excuse to miss this. Elite talent matched tough, in quadruplicate? Nah...needs Duddy. :yep
