The Vanda fight look so enticing now that Irish Ropes has completely ripped off the public. This guy Duddy is fighting named Munoz only beat fighters with incredibly bad records and got nearly shutout by Joey Glbert. Duddy is good guy who will fight anyone but his promotion company's are scam artists. What a joke, throw him in with a contender.

i see what you're saying, but how the hell is fighting guys like munoz going to get duddy ready for the type of attacking onslaught pavlik can put on,he needs to be fighting quick fighters that will put him on the backfoot so he can seriously work on his defence.

GreenGloves you hit the nail on the head. I understand taking an easier fight to secure a shot with pavlik, but how will these fights prepare him in anyway to beat pavlik. You have to test yourself and understand the extent of your abilities before dealing with Pavlik. That is exactly what pavlik achieved, he gradually climbed the ladder. Each fight prepared him for the next one. I dont see how Munoz prepares him for elite fighters.

The problem is that Duddy has been handed this chance due to his popularity.Bob Arum sees him as a big money, low risk fight for Pavlik. There is really no one else available for Pavlik who could make this a more marketable fight.Duddy is also well ranked by all the governing bodies

Iceman, in no way am I saying Duddy should not take the Pavlik fight. If he wins he is the biggest thing in boxing, if he loses and still looks good the amount of big money fights out their are endless. I used to get pissed when people compared Duddy to Cooney, but ice you have to admit their careers have very similar parallels. You can argue Cooney had the better resume leading into a title fight.

I agree that he is not really deserving especially when you see the tough route Pavlik had to take.He is however one of the better opponents that Pavlik could pick. Also who else really deserves a shot at Pavlik that is available?.So many are calling Duddy an overhyped bum but they can't name anyone else who should be fighting Pavlik instead.

Pavlik/Abraham would be the best fight to make but that won't happen until the end of 08
