Duddy v Phillips almost a go

This is a great fight that Verno will dominate for the most part.

yes!!!! a sorted Duddy defence and I really think he can take this guy. A lot of people are writing Duddy off, but I think he can do it. Remember its 38 year old Phillips he's fighting, not prime Pavlik.

if duddy continues the improvements he showed last saturday ireland will have a new world champion come october,he will simply be too big,too fast and too strong for philips.bring this fight to the odyssey in belfast and have 15000 cheering john on.

duddy does not impress me i think he is overrated

 

well **** i don't think anyone was impressed after his last few fights,but he showed more improvement against howe than he ever has done before,he was a few levels above the quality he had when he beat eastman and i feel that if anyone watched his last fight they couldn't be anything but impressed.

we all know how **** the smichet fight was for duddy and don't blame anyone for feeling he is overrated,but it was serious off night under very bad tutorage.

 

How can Duddy be overated when no one seems to rate him . I hear so much Duddy is overated on these forums that I just wonder to myself 'by who ?'

No one gave him a shot at beating Pavlik and while most realise this is a very winnable fight for Duddy no one is going out of their way to proclaim that Duddy will own Phillips .

The guys probably underated by this stage .

Good move for Duddy, a win would put him in the running for a DLH fight. I think Phillips might be a bit too old for a younger and stronger fighter like Duddy. Its still a close fight but I'd lean towards Duddy.

how is someone with the power of philips going to ko a guy who has only been down once before and that was a flash kd in his 5th fight where he knocked the other guy out in the same round.did you see the shots duddy took against smichet, or the uppercuts he took from eastman and they barely phased him,did you see the war with campas where in the 11th round he took some huge shots ... from there his defence is much improved,how the hell is someone like philips going to kd him never mind ko him,the only way duddy will be stopped is if philips leads with his head and opens duddy up (it is an actual possibility).

honestly i wonder do some people ever watch a boxer or simply go by whatever they hear on forums.

 

The guy riiiight above you has a "Duddy KO 7 Pavlik" line under his name. Now that's probably a joke of some kind...but still ya know?

I think Duddy SHOULD take this...although who knows what'll happen if we go to the cards.
