I said he was old and past it, it was more impressive than Cotto's win over Martinez, at least Mosley could walk. Still CAnelo's wins are better than losing to everyone who wasn't a crippled old gimp in the past 6 years, well he did beat Delvin....

You're saying Cotto's resume is weak, but it's not like Canelo's resume is stellar either.

I'm saying his recent resume is weak his 140 resume isn't. And for his age Canelo has more impressive wins than Cotto had by 24, in fact Canelo has almost caught up to Miguel in total number of matches, at 24.

Fun fact Cotto fought Mosley when Cotto was 27 and Mosley 36

But when Canelo at age 24 fights Cotto at 34 people are gonna cry saying Cotto was shot and an old man

But give Cotto more credit for beating an older Mosley at 36 at the time and being more into his prime at age 27

Cotto didn't even fought Paulie until he was 26.

But no Canelo is protected! SMh

Canelo already has been in tuffer wars than 24 year old Cotto

Plus a 27 year old Canelo would destroy a 36 year old Cotto

Yes put * next to Cotto's wins but none for Canelo's wins. Anyone can poke at resumes.

Because they were stoppages cause by injuries most of which were pre existing, Canelo has had close fights but none because their opponent broke his wrist or knee tore.

    Indeed.

But right now, if I had to bet, I think he will fall short of Cotto's career.

I don't see Canelo having a bright future for too much longer, the Cotto fight imo is the beginning of the end (not that I think he will necessarily lose to Cotto)

But I see him fizzling out n retiring early or if he fights to his 30's, taking many more L's than Cotto has along the way. Reason being is once he steps up to real middleweights, I think the Canelo train comes to an end. I don't see him beating top middleweights, hes just not good enough, imo.... and seeing as how his days at 154 are coming to an end very soon (if they haven't already) I don't see his future success giving him the wins he will need to surpass Cotto.

We will see though! He has been improving, so maybe that continues and he proves me wrong.

One thing I like about Canelo, and has me rooting for him, is he is throwback in a sense, and represents boxers the way they should be represented, all in the sense that he is there to fight it out who is the best, he doesn't shy away from challenges, hes not looking for the path of least resistance, like 90% of the top fighters today.

same story all the time. bunch of cotto haters tlking how bad hes going to lose just like martinez. im biased too and dont like canelo and he lost to trout and lara if not at least drew but no clear wins. here it goes again no one points out and gives props to the older, smaller, past prime cotto thats going to give a younger bigger in there prime kid like canelo. im going for cotto and i hope he drops him and suprise a lot of ppl. but we know bias ppl will come up with some other lame excuse and try to discredit a cotto win yet again.

and please dont even compare the resume. cotto SH!TS on canelo in the argument. better do some research and see how cotto move up the ranks when he was young.
