Rivas can fight in France as well, that's great. Hope his opponent is more than a journeyman but at least he is staying active and he is 9 in the WBC ranks. I give him chance against the top guys. He against Takam would be nice. I would favour Rivas in a fight against Takam.

Should be a pretty good fight. Can anyone speak to how well Rivas can see presently?

They will fight in separate fights. He had problems with both eyes and multiple surgeries on one eye and rumoured surgery/surgeries on the other eye.

I like Duhaupas. Solid meat and potatoes guy who isn't afraid of anyone. Managed to notch up some nice wins over the years, even though he got lucky against Manuel Charr. Nice solid jab and seems to keep himself in shape year round.

Takam would beat him quite easily though. I think that's obvious.

Yeah, at least Duhaupas lives a fighters lifestyle and keeps himself in shape. He is not very talented, but some have it some dont.

Guys like Miller or Ruiz Jr. though, who have plenty of talent but look like beached whales... ugh

    Cloutier’s Canada Corner
Rivas & M'Billi Will Fight In Paris, France

    By Daniel Cloutier

MONTRÉAL - Two of the best prospects of the Canadian pro boxing, the Montrealers Oscar Rivas and Chirstian M’Billi, will fight their next bouts in Paris, France. The news has been confirmed by the promoter of the GYM Group, Yvon Michel, Friday afternoon at the GYM office, in the Old Montréal section. This boxing show will be presented December 14th at the Paris Palais des Sports.

NABF North American heavyweight champion, Rivas (21-0-0), who is ranked nine contender by the WBC, will know the name of his next opponent in the next days.

A French African living in Montréal since a year, M’Billi (6-0-0), a middleweight, will fight the French Walid Talbi (12-1-1) in a eight rounder.

“Oscar has the ambition to become WBC first contender in 2018, and he wants absolutely to fight for a WBC heavyweight world championship bout before the end of the next year,” said Yvon Michel. “No doubt that he has the talent and the determination necessary to reach his goal. We will keep him active to help him to move up in the WBC ratings. If he still undefeated December 14th, he could face one of the best European heavyweight in March, possibly in France again. Another win in March should help Oscar to reach the «Top five» of the WBC ratings. On his side, M’Billi hopes to participate to a Junior middleweight world championship fight, and he could have this opportunity in 2018 if he still undefeated. Oscar and Christian will certainly play a major role on the international boxing scene in the months to come. They are both extremely talented.”

Rivas said: “Since I left Colombia to live in Montréal and become a pro boxer, I worked like hell day after day in the gymn to become eventually a star on the international boxing scene. Now, I know I am closer than ever to play a major role on the international boxing scene. I want absolutely to become WBC first contender in 2018, and get a shot for the world title. I know I have now the experience and the maturity to go to the top. I really believe that 2018 will become the most exciting year of my pro boxing career. I am so impatient to face the biggest names on my division.”

If Rivas wins well - Deontay will scratch his name OUT.
