What do people think of him? His ability/style/record and overall career.

This is him in his first big test against ex-champ Charlie Magri.

I think he was a decent solid fighter, who had genuine top ten contender kind of talent, unlike some of the dodgy challengers that found their way into title fights at these weights.

However, he was never among the very best at his weightclass and his 3 weight champ status is entirely alphabet splinter title stuff.I think weight issues were cited for a number of his losses, but a fight like the Thierry Jacob one indicates quite well where his level was at.

He had a nice "proper" textbook boxer-puncher style, but one without any overly notable abilities.Had a nice jab.I'd say the fight with an old Gaby Canizales was probably his best, along with the Bohol, Magri and Benavides fights.

I thnk he should have been able to beat Dave McAuley to be honest, though he's another decent fighter who was on a similar level.
