    Folks,

I have the tape on hand going right now... I pop a fully woody every time I replay the epic '95 heavyweight fight between Tommy Morrison and Donovan Ruddock from Kansas City, MO.

Morrison was decked by Ruddock's potent uppercut in round 1, but he gallantly got to his feet to carry on and last the round---which surprised many just by doing that.

The fight was give and take over the course of rds 2 thru 5, with Morrison re-paying Ruddock the favor by nailing him with an uppercut in round 2 and having ref Ronald Lipton giving Ruddock a standing 8 count..

The out from the blue hook Morrison nails / drops Ruddock with in round 6 was insane... Not many dude's could've risen from that hook shot delivered by "The Duke." But, amazing as it was, Ruddock got up. Yet the knockdown Ruddock sustained from Morrison seemingly took all the fight outta Ruddock's body, as Morrison would assume control from that point until the fight was waived late in round 6...

Round 6 was fair and called correctly in my book. Ruddock got every chance to roar back, but failed.. Thus, Ruddock loses... Morrison gets the TKO win with Ruddock on his feet, but groggy... Ruddock was still there when Ron Lipton called the fight off, but Ruddock was basically done like a turkey on Thanksgiving...

    MORRISON!:yep

I remember thinking the stoppage premature and that Ruddock was no more hurt than Morrison had been earlier. But I'd have to watch it again. Either way, it was a great fight.

I felt the same way. Ruddock did look a bit out of shape here as well.

    Good fight there Bill.:good

Ruddock has lost two questionable TKO deicisons by refereee's..... His loss to Tyson in fight # 1 of 1991 and his loss to Morrison in 1995.... Still, be as it may be, Ruddock was getting nailed when both fights were waived....

I think the way Ruddock went down was pretty crazy. It was almost like hitting the floor brought him back to conscious. He wasnt answering back so the fight was stopped, but he probably could have continued.

My favorite bit was the commentator getting overexcited and yelling "Ruddock goes DOWN LIKE A PANCAKE!"

Didn't jaco upset Ruddock in that fight, root root for the underdog. Save yourself for Jaco- Ruddock, don't blow your load on something stupid like Carl Williams vs Tim Witherspoon, Jaco- Ruddock was the real clash of the titans

The 1991 Ruddock would have decapitated Morrison.

Morrison wasn't on social security like some of Ruddocks other best wins though. I think Tyson Ruddock one was overrated, Ruddock came to fight early got dropped went into survival mode , then woke up and stunned tyson for a second, before getting stopped the next round, some feel the stoppage was early. I give Jose Ribalta more credit for standing his ground with a prime tyson and not going into survival mode for long peroids (rounds), Ribalta won at least one round maybe two

I still thought Ruddock would decapitate him in 95.
