I feel it is a dangerous fight for Pac especially at '54. Margo has nothing to loose, everything to gain...a good 15 pd advantage (+) in the ring, a chance to go from Pariah to Prince....maybe even in Mexico...
he doesn't have the talent to win a single round. He is going to know what oscar felt like when he planted his feet and threw a punch at a guy who wasn't there to even feel the wind from it.
You can't watch this fight and not think "floyd/baldomir" Clottey stood more of a chance than margarito does.
Luke, I think you are underestimating the cheat. He knows he's getting an undeserved chance...I think he will "go for broke". Hope I'm wrong.
His entire career has been an over estimation. let's look at margo realistically. He plods around the ring flailing his arms, which is effective against guys who want to trade or have no defense. Mosley was jabbing him to the body then going upstairs behind it (a floyd move) and destroying him. Pac is 5'6" and margo's defense is all upstairs, his elbows are a 10" apart at all times. Watch the mosley fight again. His defense is embarrassing. The big punch that began the ending of the fight? A south paw lead left from Mosley... an orthodox fighter. Pac will obliterate this guy. This fight is a waste of time. In and out movement, side to side, lead lefts, counter right hooks... margo's jab blows, he plants then shuffles his feet. His best chance is for pacquiao to have no head movement, stop caring about hit and turn and then refuse to stick to a gameplan. Freddie roach will have this fight figured out before Manny even lands in LA.
Luke, Some excellent points with good observations...I certainly won't try to refute them. Still, I can't help but feel that this fight is all wrong for Pac.
Well, we'll see.... I certainly understand the desire to see the margarito who fought cotto show up, but that guy was thoroughly outboxed before his plaster hardened and started breaking cotto apart from the inside out. That guy was a fraud. He was a brick slapping wind bag. Yeah, his chin is amazing. But ask chuvalo and lamotta how far that takes you.
What? Jose Luis Castillo. Luke is right, which of course makes the fight we want that much more difficult to go down.
only wrong here is that pac is fighting bigger opponent than he should be fighting, style wise pac should win this. but of course margocheato might caught pac on the rite spot and end the fight.
Actually Luke, I hope it goes the way you stated. I think the cheater has no business in that ring that night...
