Bernard Dunne seems ready to fight the interim champ at 122 Poonsawat Krataendangym (sp) ... the Thai has been improving since his one loss according to those who know the Thai boxing scene...any predictions for the fight??
yea this is gonna happen in october or something right? Could happen in Macau the ordinary champ vs the interim champ
This fight will Happen in Dublin Ireland on the 26th of September Dunne will box effectively from the house and win a UD (possibly close) other possible dates and places are the only way i can see it being in the following cities is if chinese or US tv put up serious cash on the table failing that the fight will be in Dublin Oct 2nd Macau China Oct 3rd New York USA
Kratingdaenggym is no joke...his opponants lately have been though. But I would almost inclined to pick him, in fact I will. I think this will be quite an entertaining fight.
Poonsawats camp were all out for this fight-they are v ery confident of getting a result. They turned down advances from the States hoping to get this fight and increased their hand at the negiotation table....thats how confident they are-then again there 45% of 120,000 dollars would be a good pay day considering cost of living in Thailand.. The one problem is Poonsawat is only 5'3' and a half- Dunne will hopefully be able to stay out of range and use his class to win a points decession....The thai might not travel well-the thai scene by all accounts is corrupt and most of his fights were over there...that could also say something?

I guess Poonsawat is looking at Dunne as an easy fight because of what happened in the Kiko Martinez fight but the Thai has a few things going against him here : His height, he is giving away 4 inches to Dunne who is tall for a super bantamweight. His opposition has been shocking if you study his record closely - 15 of his first 25 wins came by ko/tko but his opposition had been knocked out a total of 78 times before they fought Poonsawat and the majority had losing records. Although he has a few good wins, he fought over half of his career at bantam or lower (some of the fighters he knocked out were light flyweights coming up to bantamweight). An interesting note (don't know how much this means but it is something to think about), In 2004 Poonsawat ko'd Takhir Ibragimov in the 10th round, 2 months prior to this Yershin Jailouv ko'd Takhir in 4 rounds. In 2007 Dunne Ko'd Jailouv in 3 rds. Now Jailouv is far from a big puncher but he managed to get rid of Takhir a lot quicker than Poonsawat. When Poonsawat fought Cordoba he hardly put a dent in him, Dunne really done a number on Cordoba - I put this down to Dunne being the naturally bigger and stronger man. So maybe Poonsawats power is overrrated, Dunne will still have to be careful though. I think Dunne's size advantage, quick hands and overall class means a UD win for him if he boxes from the outside and does not go toe to toe with the Thai. This will be a tough fight for Dunne but I believe he can win it:bbb
its a dangerous fight for Dunne but i think/hope he can pull it off, plus the fight being in Dublin will give Dunne a huge advantage that he wouldn't get if the fight was in Thailand or China
