Just like before the Gomez fight, a good deal of people expected Gomez to be a tougher than expected fight for Cotto due to his size, decent punch output and his ability to take a punch - afterall, he did fight middleweights before and was never down/stopped, right?

Gomez found himself on the canvas three ****ing times. Cotto could have finished him in 3 had he pressed him more.

I completely agree. If you notice, Cotto kept looking at the ref as to say " are you going let this boy keep taking this beating or are you going to stop this homicide"

    Tell that to Meldrick Taylor.

Of course if there is a massive difference in levels (skill levels, power levels, speed levels etc) then durability alone will not save you (ie: Cotto-Gomes).

Are you really comparing Margarito to Gomez?

Margarito is much better than Gomez. But surely you get my drift

What's your drift, Samurai? That all Margarito's got is durability?

    :huh

    Confusing to me also.

I couldn't see Gomez going 12 rounds with Paul Williams, or see him knocking out Cintron twice.

Gomez is a good two or three levels below Margarito.

    True, indeed. ^

This is another uneducated "Cotto's cum has calcium and it's good for your bones" thread. Just empty bull****.

I'm still leaning slightly towards Cotto by UD, but when people talk about "durability" I think more of Cotto's apparent lack of it rather than Margarito' surplus.
