This thread comes up like once a week. Says a lot about Floyd when no other boxer today gets mentioned more in these hypothetical matchups then he does.

No one that goes "NO MAS" has a chance to beat Floyd. Just my opinion.

Misleading stat as many of the divisons being counted for Floyd didn't exist when Duran started boxing. The weight class span Duran's career covers dwarves Mayweather.

Mayweather started at 130 and is now at 146. He's jumped 15 lbs.

Duran started at 119 and ended at 168. He jumepd 49 lbs.

That's a jump that would include in modern divisons: Junior Feather, Feather, Super Feather, Lightweight, Junior Welter, Welter, Middle, Super Middle.

    8 modern divisons!

Duran carried his power up, Mayweather is a light puncher at welterweight. At Middleweight? He might as well throw water balloons at his opponents. Barkley wasn't as skilled as Golovkin and you probably don't know **** about Barkley you just looked up his size and compared to Golovkin just to discredit Mayweather.

You guys keep talking about size but size doesn't mean squat if you don't have the skills. So quit with the size BS, otherwise the biggest man in boxing would be the best.

The ONLY reason you mention Golovkin is because you want to see Mayweather knocked out. Hate is an emotion, emotions ruin your rational thought process.

    Go chew some gum, haters.

Lets not forget a bunch of people on this site like to put Mayweather up there. If he's such a big deal, fighting someone like Golovkin should be no big deal, eh?

Well, Duran would have fought GGG. But really, only reason people mention GGG is because Floyd and Cotto are making noises about fighting for the supposed 160 championship.

I do admit, I would love to see Floyd knocked out.

But if Floyd stuck to WW, where he actually has the physical goods to be a top guy then I dont think you would see many reasonable people talking about GGG and Floyd in the ring together.

Even GGG at 154, though technically legit is a stretch.. because the outcome would depend on Golovkin's ability to make the weight without damaging himself... and I personally hate fights being won/lost by dieticians and unquantifiable physical factors that are related to making successful weight cuts. Much prefer seeing two 100% guys going at it, its much safer as well both in the short and long run.

Agreed. And people were talking Mayweather-Golovkin before Cotto's 160 mess.
