Yes but I think the really great fighters push themselves in the name of pride and legacy. A really great fighter would push himself until he lost, because until he looses he doesn't know his limit.

Well, Hagler never tested himself above middleweight. His best wins are against guys that were better at lower weights.

I meant his best opponents were better at lower weights. Ray and Hearns. Got confused for a minute and forgot he lost to Ray.

CM, Duran's loss to Hagler beats anything Mayweather has done, never mind his wins. His win against the undefeated SRL who is acknowledged as the 2nd or 3rd best welter ever, tops all of Mayweather's top 5 wins, hell it might even top his entire career. Why? because It's not about quantity, it's about quality.

    Completely agree.

Duran would have fought GGG and beat that ass.

i guess that means hagler had no pride in his legacy and didn't want to push himself by fighting michael spinks and larry holmes.

such bullsh8t...dude anybody could lose. i guess that means mustafa hamsho was an atg too, huh? and if you think beating a 50% srl is meaningful you dksab.

but how about duran getting ktfo 2 by hearns...does that beat anything fmj has done too? how about duran geting outclassed by benitez...that one really puts fmj to shame, right?

Mayweather started out as a featherweight in the olympics, won his first world title as a 2 year pro at superfeather and has won belts in every division since up to Jr.Middle

Keep in mind GGG has been reported to have knocked out heavyweights, battered angulo and dropped Kovalev in sparring, not to mention knocking out the likes of Geale, Rubio, Macklin.

Mayweather still makes the welterweight limit with ease and if he can why should he move up? he moved up to 154 for Canelo, Cotto and Delahoya and still weighed in around 150 . . . . . it doesnt make sense that he should bloat himself up to 160, for all we know he would be sluggish with the extra weight.

If he were to move up to fight Miguel Cotto (who has no business at the weightclass either beating a beyond shot Martinez) then id agree he should be fighting GGG . . . . that being said he isnt moving up to middleweight

    this

    :deal

what i wanna know is, how come nobody is crtiicizing canelo for not moving up to fight kovalev or ggg for not fighting the current cruiserweight champ.
