Duran and Leonard made ridiculous comments. Like the fab 4 again is untouchable.

First off how many fighters has Floyd fought that started out at lower weights than he did? JMM? Guerrero?....um who else?:rofl......yeah sure Floyd the "majority" of fights are vs guys when they move up to fight him.

    ALSO this is my point

Floyd is a super featherweight, these guys are WW & MW. Of course they would be stronger and more powerful than a guy who started at 130. But if Floyd was a natural WW or MW, he would be able to defeat any of the fab 4 or anyone from the 80s @147-160 without a doubt.

This is the best way to look at it. Floyd stands head and shoulders over everyone in this era, he is the best fighter since Pernel and lives in a different era.

Back then the best had to fight the best to become champ and to stay on top to make any kind of money and everyone (including promoters) wanted that to happen. today there is so much politics and so many reasons to keep fighters apart. Arum who was responsible for making some of the biggest fights in history is now responsible for keep the biggest fights in this era from not happening.

to compare PBF based on those old timers having to fight each other is not a fair. this is a different time . . . things will never be like that again so we have to appreciate what we got.

Tons of boxers have passed up large paydays for business reasons. Its not rocket science, he didnt rematch oscar because Oscar was still trying to get the larger purse and dictate terms, Oscar prevented the fight from happening. And in regards to Pac, he will never fight a guy who is signed to top rank because he will not do business with Arum and I cant blame him.

No one's knocking Floyd's accomplishments, but they need to be put into perspective. According to this website of boxing historian's

    www.IBRO

    http://www.ibroresearch.com/?p=463

Duran's ranked 7th all time in the history of the sport, and Leonard's ranked 12th on a P4P basis.

In specific weight classes, Duran's ranked 2nd in lightweight, Leonard (whom Duran beat once) is ranked 2nd at welterweight, Hearns is ranked 8th, and Hagler is ranked 6th all time at Middleweight.

This is why they are called the fab 4.

Now when you claim Duran isn't skilled, keep in mind he beat the number 2 ranked welterweight of all time, and he lost a decision to the 6th best MIDDLEWEIGHT of all time, and he was 71-1 when he fought Leonard.

What's Mayweather done that remotely comes close to any of this?

44-0 that's laughable in comparision surely that should be obvious.

This thing you people have with an undefeated record... do you know how many fighters there are right now with undefeated records?

The only one I give Floyd even odds with is Duran. In fact, I would make him a slight favorite. He gets stopped against Tommy and SRL and drops a decision to Benitez. He wouldn't even be a realistic matchup against Hagler.

The ugly fact is, if he was around during that time he would have found a way to not fight any of them. He won't even get in the ring with Pacquiao and you think he's going to mix it up Tommy Hearns??

Troll USA today got there information from Las Vegas Bookies not Floyd. Im saying what happens when he finishs Boxing and he isnt earning the same money to support his addiction.

It will become another Sad Boxing story.

Im saying he shows all the major signs of a Gambling Addict and a serious one at that with Domestic Violence and reports from friends and they wont be there when the money runs dry.

I see it every week with my Father in Law.

He will always tell me about the wins he has and he has a few but you wont here him tell you about his losses.

Not really. I think a prime 147 Cotto would have beat him, especially considering how much a past prime Cotto knocked him around. Margo (with the wraps) would have been a terrible matchup for Floyd, all energy and never stopping, not even caring where he hit you. I think Dapidran is a bad matchup for Floyd for the same reasons but even more so.

There's a reason Floyd retired when it was time to fight the bad dudes at WW and there's a reason he never fought Manny. He was concerned for his health.

Castillo was more of a Chavez clone than a Duran clone, and Duran's comp at LW is lacking. 99% of his greatness comes from SRL fighting absolutely the stupidest fight possible against him. I think Floyd beats him.

Bernie well said and also after 135 and this a another big thing about his Legacy and in some cases I dont blame Floyd as he couldnt control in some cases who he fought but after leaving 135 he never faced at that very time the best fighters at that weight. when he moved up and his Legacy will hurt because of it.

At 140 every man and his Dog knew Tszyu, Cotto and Hatton were the best live versions for Floyd to fight yet he fought.
    Corley and Gatti.

    At 147
Many believed throughout his time there when he first went there
Margarito, Cotto and Paul Williams was the best yet he fought Judah and Baldomir, Then after coming back and Pacquiao dominating the division he fought Marquez which was a Farce.

    At 154
the first time was Dela Hoya which was a Test and huge Money so I get that but the best guy there after Dela Hoya looking poor against Forbes was Vernon Forrest. Then the second time he fights Cotto and Cotto looks not too bad but he is far from himself after the Margo and Pac beatings while many believe the best now at 154 are Alvarez and Trout.

So correct me if Im wrong for guy who and his fans who want us believe he is better than the Fab 4 sorry but he doesnt get close due to his own ways and his legacy choices of fights.

Yeah but I would rate Durans Lightweight wins against
    Ken Buchanan
    Estaban De Jesusx2
    Carlos Palomino
Just as good as Floyds 135 Career wins.

Shows how little you really know. Duran's greatness was for his accomplishments at lightweight and going into the Leonard fight at 71-1. His fights against De Jesus were legendary.

We know you're not a Duran fan but at least keep to the facts.

He would of made more money than he ever had at that point with PPV shares alone ..And the same with Manny ..The excuses are too obvious if he really fights for the money ..
