Duran beating Leonard would be the equivalent of Floyd doing what?

Floyd would have to move up and outpoint Joe Calzaghe at 168.

 

There is no one of Leonard's quality to beat. Floyd doesn't even fight someone with half of SRL's talent. He will never have that accomplishment.

 

Do you ever make a sensible post? 44 year old Hopkins is still top 5 fighter in the world. For Floyd to beat him even at his current weight of 147, he'd have to jump to atleast 168. Thats 20lbs to fight one of the best and most skilled fighters in the world. How is that not compared to Duran jumping 1 weight class to fight Leonard? Are you saying Leonard is that much far ahead of B Hop in talent? Please. I cant believe you are actually comparing Chaguev or a shot Oscar to Hopkins. You act as if age has anything to do with Hopkins current ability which he has showed in giving Calzaghe a competitive fight and schooling Pavlik. Put it this way a peak Hopkins beats a peak Hagler. Debate that.

dont think it's possible to be honest. unless paul williams becomes the greatest junior middle of all time then floyd comes up to beat him.

 

Given where Pac started out, a Pac win over FMJ @ 147 would be among the best since Duran/SRL. More analogous, I think, than anything Floyd would be able to do just because of Floyd's class level and in relative prime.

I'd agree that BHop or Joe C at 168 would be about the closest Floyd could come. Given the extra weight jump, I think they're closer than one might think, even though it's natural to rate older BH and JC well below SRL.

 

Leonard is a Top15 ATG.

There are no Top15 ATGs in THIS era, except probably Jones and maybe Hopkins. Obviously Mayweather cannot fight Jones or Hopkins.
