I don't know. His lack of any success against other fast legends like Benitez,Hearns and Leonard )when Ray fought his own fight) does not show me he would knock him out so easily or even win so easily. And I am not a Floyd fan, but the legendary speed of Benitez,Hearns and Leonard were too fast for Duran (and people will say he was so old at only 30 and way above hi weight, even though he fought at 154 as early as 1978 before Hearns,Benitez and Leonard fought at 154) so why wouldn't Floyd have been? I think Floyd win a decision..

Duran was slower at light middle, his body was very stocky at that weight, Leonard had a reach advantage and Hearns had an amazing reach advantage along with devastating power that Floyd did not posses. Floyd would of outpointed Duran at light middle but would of found it harder at lightweight.

Duran was always good enough or fast enough to beat non legends like Barkley or Moore, it just seemed like when he stepped up to that upper level he lost, regardless of weights or not. Since we do not have him fighting a top legend at lightweight, we really do not know how he would have done, but the guys he fought who were fast and legends he lost to rather easily. So I am not sure he would beat Floyd so easily.

Not sure Duran would stop him ,Floyd had a excellent Chin .But I see Roberto snarling in his face through out the fight ,pressurising him like never before. Floyd would never have faced someone like Duran before and he'd find himself having to bring every tool out of the box to hang in there
    Duran Wpts 15

I see the ref stopping it in the later rounds, with Floyd taking a hell of a battering against the ropes. I think Floyd at lightweight beats most, but not this time.

John just admit it.. Mayweather beats duran and chavez... And i suspect that it would be easier than the people think... I love Roberto Duran but i think that the defence of floyd, his speed and his great ability counterpunching would be too much

I don't think the shoulder roll defense works whatsoever against Roberto. He needs a boxer on the outside and play the feint game instead of a high pressure 2 handed assault guy. I also think Duran would turn to his dirty tricks as well and I sure don't think Floyd avoids that or counters that kind of thing.

Duran @ 135 is all over May from the opening bell forcing May to do things he doesnt want to including fighting 3 min per round.
May way out of his comfort zone. He won't be able to dictate the pace. Duran takes this with a UD.

styles make fights. Hearns beat Hill. but struggled with Barkley, who was not Hearns level. Saying because Mayweather struggled with Castillo means he would lose to Duran is not accurate, since they are not the same fighters. Fact is Duran had trouble with the high level speed. I don't think saying Duran would win for sure is really factual.. Benitez did not struggle with Duran, and keep this in mind. Duran was at 154 before Benitez was. 1978

This. Except Duran stops him late … The pot shotting and shoulder rolls up against the ropes not going to work against Duran
