And Duran knew that if he called Ray's wife a name and played games that would fluster a young inexperienced fighter. It worked. That is boxing whether that is the reason Ray did that or not, he still outclassed Duran from the first round on in New Orleans. If Duran was out of shape like he always (according to him) when he lost, then that would have happened in his lightweight reign and he still beat most of those guys. Thing is Ray was not your typical fighter and better than all those guys Duran fought at lightweight combined.

No it's not Pachilles, i was simply getting at the blatant fact that the first two fights took place when both fighters where at the peak of what is relevant to this discussion,

I agree, definitely, it's splitting hairs though to say he wasn't at his peak in the Duran fights because he was in the Hearns win, don't you think? The Hearns win is one of his highlights for sure,
