After Duran fought Hagler he leaned out the ring and told Leonard if he boxed Hagler he could beat him, that dosen't sound like something you'd say to a guy you hated or didn't like, were they really friends after a while?, or what was the reasoning for Duran doing that he dosen't seem like the guy to do that kind of thing. Or was it that Duran just wanted to see Hagler beat?, Duran didn't really seem to have any anger or anything much for Hagler though, well enough for him to want Leonard to beat him.

They don't really hate each other. Boxers from the same era eventually become friends when they fight. They have to. When they are fighting or near it, they are against each other. After their era is against other eras so they have to come together.

Well... Hagler was a shitty pressure fighter.
Incredible at countering but when he had to to be the aggressor he just couldn't do it.

Hearns doesn't really count because his ego was too big to run away from Hagler for 12 rounds. (He did in the end but that was because he broke his hand and had nothing to stop Hagler now)

I remember reading something about it. Duran was walking out of the ring and he leaned over and said "you beat him". Something like that . Which does make you think Hearns going to war and fighting Hagler the way he did was not smart. Tommy sure let his emotions get out of control in that fight, and I think he knows it now. But Hagler was great. He should have pressed Duran and he would have gotten a mid round knockout.

What I meant to say is that he couldn't really stalk.
Extreme counter puncher that could brawl if he really had to.
But not really a pressure fighter like Chavez Sr... (Extreme example) but all boxers are flawed.

But his "inability" to stalk was the reason he "lost" the Leonard fight
