I know but some people dont want to understand that, mexican singer Luis Miguel was born in PR but he always saids that he is 100percent mexican. People fight over stupid stuff like that but hey if he doesnt feel puertorrican why should we care. Is all about heritage pride for some people.

Manny's Secret Revealed

When Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. was starting his career, he had a sparring partner and a loyal friend, a featherweight puncher named Rolando Navarette.

Rolando who hailed from Southern Philippines, was brought by his manager to Mexico to test his mettle and to try to make a name against the Mexican bangers. It was said that his style of fighting was perfectly suited to beat the Mexican style who would come at him and try to knock him out, only to find out that he has dynamites in his gloves waiting to explode on the unsuspecting mexicans.

And so it went on until in a sparring session, he met this game upstart who hailed from Sinaloa Culiacan named Julio. Julio had a chin that Navarette's dynamites couldn't crack. just the same, Julio who was used to walking down his opponents was suddenly beffudled by the unorthodox movements being employed by Navarette. And so, having found their toughest fights on each other, they developed a deep sense of respect. Respect became friendship, friendship soon became a bond of brotherhood.

and so when Navarette went back to the philippines, he and Julio were in constant communication with each other. In 1978, Navarette was campaigning as a superfeatherweight contender and was aiming to get a crack at Alexis Arguello's WBC title. He invited Julio to visit him in his hometown to help him prepare in his gym, sent him a plane ticket and promised him a wonderful vacation in the Philippines' white beaches eating tuna delicacies while drinking San Miguel Beer and hitting on fair Filipina maidens.

Julio was too happy to be seeing his friend again, quickly hopped on a plane and flew to General Santos City, Rolando's hometown. There after every training, Rolando and Julio would stroll along the streets, watch the sunset along the bay, try their hands on catching tuna and drink beer until the late hours of each night.

Then one day Julio chanced upon a beautiful filipina waitress named Dionisia. Dionisia was a fisherman's daughter who married too soon. her husband was a poor sailor who could barely earn a living for his wife and kids. And so, dionisia had to work in a bar as a waitress where lonely men and jobless vagrants spend idle time. It so happened that one night, a drunken hobo tried to take advances and put his hands upon the beautiful and fragile body of Dionisia. Dionisia fought back and tried to get the man off her but she was too weak to resist. All these was witnessed by Julio Cesar Chavez. like a Mexican knight he came to dionisia's rescue. he only needed to land his vaunted left hook and the hobo was soon sprawled on the floor, crying in pain. dionisia was not used to seeing violence and the fact that she was involved in one was too much for her weak spirit. She fainted.

She woke up inside Julio's room where the mexican knight had taken her. there, drowning with love and adoration, julio wooed Dionisia. he promised her all the good and beautiful things she had never seen or felt before."ive never seen a woman as beautiful as you are, not in Mexico, not in America, not in my whole life, " he says. Dionisia inspite of her marriage, found the Mexican and his spanish accent irresistible. she obliged and for one night she and julio made passionate love.

The following morning, Dionisia ran away in shame. Julio tried to find her but his friend Rolando Navarette dissuaded him. "She was married" he said. "You better leave this country now before her husband finds out and declare jihad upon you." And so following his good friend's advice, Julio left and went back to Mexico. Nine months later, Dionisia gave birth to a healthy and strong boy that she named emmanuel.

Emmanuel grew up in a broken family. Dionisia's husband did not recognize him as his own. "how could he be my son?! i was away at sea, sailing for four months and when i came back you are already pregnant!!" he always says. Since then the poor sailor turned to alcohol, he lost his faith and trust on his poor wife. and he had always hated the little boy emmanuel. One day, on a drunken rage, he killed and ate emmanuel's pet and only friend, Cocoy the dog.

fearing the man's hatred, Emmanuel ran away and lived on the streets until he was found by none other than his true father's best friend, Rolando. Rolando knew the truth about Emmanuel's life and wanted to keep him. But Rolando had seen better days, he was a down-on-his-luck former champ and couldn't give anything to manny. And so the only way he could help him is to secretly train him into a fighting machine like his real father. Rolando taught him his unorthodox and wild punching style, developed dynamite in his small hands, and thought him to fight with the never-say-die attitude of a mexican. It also helped that Emmanuel had inherited his father's tough and granite chin which not even a full-grown Rolando could crack. and when Emmanuel was ready, rolando gave him some money so he could ran away to Manila where his destiny as a fighter awaits him. deal

"Be brave young Manny. someday you will become even greater than my friend and your father julio. I've never seen a young fighter with so much potential as yours. not even from your father. I've always believed based on my experience with both of you, that when you are ready, you would beat the **** out of your father head to head, prime for prime in a fantasy match" Rolando thinking to himself as he watched manny's boat bound to manila disappear into the sunset.:rasta

I already met duran in person he's a great guy crazy as hell but good guy to talk to.. and i had my share of fights with mexicans in the army havent lost one yet

Ideal weight is 150lbs or below maybe 145 I'm just 5'9". But it all depends how motivated and dedicated i am. Must of the times i end up fighting at 160 to 170. Funny thing is before i joined the army i fought at 119-126 back home in PR. Must army boxers are street fighters that think is easy and come in with no technique. Is easy to make up the weight and size difference with some skills. For the army europe championships i always fight at welterweight.

Was meant to be meeting Duran in my hometown over summer but I changed my plans to go and **** some woman from Manchester who in the end didn't put out. atsch Single worst day of my life.

Anyway, Duran is a seriously bad dude. Best fighter I've ever watched in any great depth.
