In last months Ring Mag an interview with Calzaghe states that Stallone actually dropped Tarver with a body shot, and not just for the cameras either. Funny **** to read.:rofl
If were talking super-human stuff, we don't need to stray too far from the ring itself: (1) Willie Pep winning a round without throwing a punch. (2) Danny Williams coming back for the knockout, while fighting with a dislocated shoulder. (3) Buster Douglas beating Iron Mike.
It's one of those incidents that keeps getting mentioned when the old guys of boxing get together and start talking about the greats. They go through all the facets of the game; punch power, speed, chin, technique. Then when the question of defence comes up Willie Pep always gets a high-five, and this episode is recollected; not too sure who the fight was against, but apparently its one of those were the opponent is throwing windmill punches and Willie is bobbing, weaving, ducking, and using excellent footwork, but he doesn't counter the guy. Bert Sugar has brought it up before, although I admit that it does have that urban myth feel to it.
